The advice I would give to someone writing the P.A.C.E. paper next year is to not procrastinate and make sure to ask questions. Bonita’s senior English department is here to support you and help you write the paper, you will not have to do this alone. The paper is very structured and chunked into multiple assignments, as long as you complete these assignments you will be on the right track. My final piece of advice is to ask any questions you may have, and make the corrections needed and you will be fine.

I would give two helpful pieces of advice to someone who will be completing their P.A.C.E paper next year. First, I would suggest writing about something you are passionate about. Sometimes, it can be challenging trying to figure out what you want to include in your paper. If you focus on a topic of your interests, then your paper will most likely be stronger, organized logically, and flow smoothly. Second, a realistic and helpful tip I would give, is to not procrastinate. With everything going on outside of English, it is easy to fall behind. Therefore, it is important to ask questions and finish all assignments.

To any upcoming senior that is going to write his or her paper, I would suggest that they keep on top of their work in the developmental stages of the paper because that part is the most important. If you work hard in the beginning, then the paper will fall in line with everything else that you have prepared for it.

I’m sure many other people are going to say the same thing as me, but simply just don’t procrastinate. Use your class time wisely because if you don’t, it will all come crashing down on you and you will be extremely stressed out, with the nagging thought of not graduating from Bonita creeping in the back of your mind at all times. I got all my work done on time, but I saw this in my piers and I don’t want anybody else to experience that.

Some advice that I would give to someone who is going to write their paper is to think thoroughly about how and which concrete details will be used. This is because it can determine how well your commentary will be with what you are trying to prove. Choosing good concrete detail would help avoid commentary sounding awkward or repetitive and thus limiting readability. It was something that I encountered a lot throughout my paper which made me go through a lot of revisions. Another piece of advice is to not be afraid to ask the teacher for some guidance or clarification because they are there to help pass the student’s paper and receive a good grade on it. Instead of asking my teacher for suggestions during my first draft, I would often leave questions till the last minute, making me rush my paper and stress when instead I could have taken my time.

A helpful and realistic tip or bit of advice that I would give to someone who is going to be writing their P.A.C.E. paper next year is to stay organized and not procrastinate. Asking questions and going to the pace labs will help tremendously. The English teachers do a really good job of guiding seniors step by step through each section of the paper, so especially in the case where you get stuck on a certain part the teachers are always an easy outlet to go to.

Your paper will live and die by your sources. If you feel that you are forcing a source to fit your narrative or your claim, you need to find a new source. I attempted to do this, and it proved to be catastrophic. If you are forcing a source to fit your claim, and you cannot find any other possible sources that do indeed fit your claim, you may need to change your claim. It is better that this is done sooner rather than later, because this may result in you needing to change a great deal of your paper, eating up more of your precious time.

Also, don't feel afraid to ask for advice or extra revisions from many references such as teachers or Paper.co. I'd also recommend attending all or some PACE labs with Ms. Mendoza or your English teacher. Personally, they proved to be a big help for me during the research portion for PACE. Lastly, do what you love and love what you do for the project portion of PACE, that way you'll know then and there what to do for future assignments for PACE.

So, it's time for the PACE project? Great, here is some advice. Befriend an english teacher in any previous year. That's a good start. They will help you understand and they already know you. They know what to fix and how to encourage you. You also can NOT be lazy with this!! If you fall behind you are messing up already. It's a new year, let's be more professional with this project. It could help with future college things, if you're going to college. I don't know but it helps with time management. Just know that PACE is important and you may stress over it from time to time. It is a rewarding project because at the end you get to graduate!! Wooooo! Just keep working but don't be afraid to give yourself a little break now and again. Also, don't be scared, it's just what decides your future for graduating or not. I wish you well on this journey of riding a bicycle on fire down a seemingly endless path. It does end and then you will finally be able to relax before college (again, if you're going). Have a good year!

I remember reading these at the beginning of the year. That felt like yesterday. To be honest, enjoy every moment you have, no matter how big or small. Even if that means smelling the flowers along the road or just having a small laugh with friends. Grow and appreciate the fun times, but also make sure to keep working hard, being diligent, and always trying to be better! You got this!

The best advice I can give is to follow instructions as best as you can. The instructions are very thorough and helpful throughout the paper writing process. I previously had never been able to finish writing any paper assigned, but this year was different because I knew how to do every step due to the detailed instructions. Also ask for help and get help when you need it! Don't be the dummy who refuses to ask for help and fails because you didn't know what to do.

A realistic tip I would give to someone who's going to be writing their paper next year would be, to stay up to date with the dead lines, and picking a topic that you genuinely are interested in. Not only does this paper determine whether or not you graduate, but there are consequences if you turn it in late which is by fifty percent. If you turn in a good majority of your assignments late, you will most definitely be in danger of not graduating. Another piece of advice that significantly helped, is writing about a topic that you're genuinely interested in. I suggest not writing this paper/choosing a topic based on what sounds like will get a good grade or other reasonings, but choose a topic that you could see yourself discussing or conversing about outside of this assignment. For me, I found that I had much more to speak about to the point where I had to cut down a large amount on my paper, which is always better than not having enough.

Make sure your quotes for the paper are within 2-3 sentences. If it is not in MLA format then you will get a not yet regardless of your score. Ms. Reatiga knows who this is. Also procrastinating is possible if you are good at it. I do not recommend it though because from 9-11:59 will be the most stressful part of your life. WARNING: people you know will be banished to Chaparral and that's mad cringe, if you don't want to be that guy then do your project. I also played chess with that other guy who mentioned it. Don't be like us.

The best advice that would have helped me the most is to take the paper in chunks like how it is already structured. I know it can feel like a drag to take things slowly, and sometimes it only fuels your procrastination, but it is important to only focus on one part of the paper while you are constructing it. You procrastinate and tell yourself, "This doesn't seem too hard, I can finish it later, it won't take that long," only to find yourself stressing because you have to revise so much of the lazy work that you did. Also don't play chess with your classmates during the classtime you have to work on the paper.

Buckle up this is a long one but it is all true. It sounds cliche but hear me out, do not stress yourself out, and find a good "work-life balance". I know everyone always says that but it is true when I was doing my paper I was not exactly stressed but I had my moments but a friend of mine sure was, she would be till midnight and over with me on FaceTime asking me to fact-check everything she did, she was always stressing herself out in making sure her paper came out good and in the end it did but she messed up her sleep schedule, could not focus in class, and was always tired during the day so find a good balance or surround yourself with people who will help you and even if you feel like the pressure is getting to you then stop, it may sound simple and to a degree it is but when you are in your own head freaking out you just cannot seem to stop yourself but you need to or else you are going to find yourself in an "early grave" so to speak. The biggest issue with this paper is how some (if not most) underestimate it, they figure it cannot be too hard to write and for some this may be true but just keep it safe and lock it in, the best way to avoid stress is to periodically take breaks and this can be as simple as getting up and drinking some water or you can even just take a few hours off to clear your head, maybe even go for a short walk, but at the end of the day you can get it done nevertheless of how you may feel you just gotta PACE yourself (get it?) any way you got this and trust me when you finally get it done you will feel great, also make sure you celebrate the little things and maintain a positive outlook, you finished one paragraph? Great! Celebrate that, by focusing on the good things I promise the entire paper will feel like a breeze and if you do not want to celebrate the little things that are fine ask your friends or family to celebrate for you. A quote I like to look back on in stressful situations is, "It’s Your Life, The Life You Fought So Hard To Have. And For The First Time In A Long Time, You Just Live." I think it really speaks volumes on how you should approach this assignment, do not let it get to you. Let's get it done, GO BEARCATS!

Take my advice Bearcat of '24, PACE hours and summer break are BFFs so do your hours during the summer, and pick a topic you're really passionate about, even though it may be a bit difficult, but if you're passionate about it, then trust me it will benefit you, especially when you know a lot about that subject. Next, when you're writing your paper, do everything it takes to dodge that pesky NOT YET category, cause you won't be able to move on till you're away from that pest. Most importantly, enjoy yourself with your PACE hours and do something you'll enjoy for them!!!!!

In lieu of something pleasant and encouraging, i have advice that is more important to me. Now yes, pick a cool topic, don't procrastinate, and put some effort in yadda yadda; but, let's be real. You could've guessed those things. My advice: quit your complaining. Stop it. Just shut up. Now. Everyone in your class has to do their PACE stuff and there is no sense in glamorizing your 'suffering'. You'll only ruin other people's enthusiasm if all you can talk(whine) about is how you need to do your sentence outline all in one night because of whatever excuse. It's lame and annoying. You're supposed to enjoy growing as a person or whatever. Griping through your whole senior year is pathetic. You are given every opportunity to actually enjoy, or at least tolerate, the tasks for PACE. Solidarity is one thing: have your days to worry and express your feelings. It is relieving to come to milestones after stressful bouts of work. But if you are mostly miserable, or acting miserable drama queens, throughout the year, you're doing it wrong. There is so much to love about what you get to learn this year! All of your peers get to do something interesting and unfamiliar, how cool is that. You have super explicit instructions on every assignment, so don't play dumb. The tasks are easy and flexible. So, if you have to tell yourself that you couldn't do it because it was 'too hard' or some other nonsense to make you feel better, you're failing yourself(and probably the first semester).
Sidenote: Someone is going to pick an objectively cooler topic than you. Good for them. Don't get insecure, so long as you pick something important to you.
OK now lightning round:

Cut corners where reasonable. I.E. you should choose sleep over writing and extra page for this 10 point assignment

Plan stuff out. find time for PACE alongside your APs, college apps, sports, rehearsals, chambers nonsense, part-time job, and friends. I did. I used a little paper planner and found time for all my other nonsense.

Sleep. oh my god sleep. prioritize rest, everything feels better when you aren't running on monster alone.
