Does cultural appropriation contribute to racism?

Perhaps making a big deal out of cultural appropriation can actually result in more harm being done than good. Trying to be too anti-racist can be just as bad as being racist yourself in some cases, as it separates people. Seeing black girls as magical puts them in a superior vision; but it is the superiority that we give them, that actually causes them to be even more separated than before. This also relates to the article that Daniel had: Are You Racist? The article relates to this idea exactly; how the ambition to support people who are segregated only segregates them further. Before going to this meeting, I once thought about how there is a very large and increasing amount of LGBTQ propaganda. At first I felt like LGBTQ support was a positive thing in the world, but after constant bombardment, I feel like it was becoming excessive. Maybe it is hurting the LGBTQ to have too much propaganda supporting it? Perhaps it can sacrifice plots and the quality of work if it is abused? Take this as an example
http://variety.com/2017/film/news/beauty-and-the-beast-gay-character-box-office-1202012829/
