What did they do?"(Dahl 45).  This set the tone because because it expresses the attitude Mary had about killing her husband. I’m going out.”<br><br></div><div>At that point, Mary Maloney simply walked up behind him and without any pause she swung the big frozen leg of lamb high in the air and brought it down as hard as she could on the back of his head.<br><br></div><div>She might just as well have hit him with a steel club<br>(dahl  42 and 43)  <br> <br>This represents the mood of the story because it now makes you feel a different way throughout the story. It shows how frustrated she was with her husbands attitude so she went crazy and couldn't control her self and killed him.</div>]]></description>

(Dahl 35)  The mood here is frantic Mary was distraught at the fact that  her husband was leaving her. Marry's emotions took over and she murdered her husband.   </div>]]></description>
