         <description><![CDATA[<div>Melody's condition frustrates her. She can understand what people say to her but she can't respond back which makes her feel unaccepted in a sense.&nbsp;<br>Since Melody is bound to a wheelchair, she feels that she sticks out in a bad way. Cerebral Palsy causes the Nervous System restrict the bodies motion (hence Melody not being able to speak or walk). Early on Melody feels like she's being held captive by her disease. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Melody meets Mrs. V for the first time when her mom asked her to watch Melody. Mrs. V and Mrs. Brooks both work at the same hospital and Mrs. V has won multiple awards for her work. Unlike others, Mrs. V does not place limitations on Melody. Mrs. V creates a board with pictures of her family members and numerous words to help her communicate better. She also takes Melody on trips so she can get out of the house more. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Chapter 11-12</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Melody is entering 5th grade and she believes things are facing upwards. Melody's wheelchair has been upgraded and she doesn't need anyone else to push her around anymore. This brings Melody a sense of freedom and independency. Her music teacher, Mrs. Lovelace takes the time to understand Melody and in turn Melody starts to gain a real interest in Mrs. Lovelaces class.&nbsp;<br>With Melody getting a new wheelchair she can now move freely from class to class with the regular students. Melodys confidence is now on the rise. She is feeling more like a normal human being rather than a limited person. Melody attends a conference and her teacher, Mrs. Shannon compliments her skills in the classroom. Melody meets Catherine for the first time in chapter 12. Catherine is her new aid and they do basically everything together while in school. </div>]]></description>

Although she wont be physically talking, she is still thrilled that her thoughts could be heard. For the first time someone other than her family realized that Melody was indeed very bright. Unfortunately some students accuse Melody of cheating, but Catherine comes to Melodys defense. Melody is upset because her classmates and teacher think that she isn't as bright as she really is. </div>]]></description>

People recognize how intelligent she is, but people still see her disabilities present, especially when she eats.&nbsp;<br>Melody has made the front page of the newspaper as a improbable success story. Melody worries that since she is now the face of the team her teammates may get jealous and be cruel to her. </div>]]></description>
