1)The purpose of the author to show that tik tok has banned for harmful accounts that promote potentially life threating. He talked about that tik tok did an action . As he said in paragraph 2“But harmful accounts that promote potentially life-threatening eating disorders were still easy to find. While the company had blocked some hashtags, putting the same words into a search for profiles brought up dozens of accounts promoting eating disorders” and he said in paragraph 3“But harmful accounts that promote potentially life-threatening eating disorders were still easy to find. While the company had blocked some hashtags, putting the same words into a search for profiles brought up dozens of accounts promoting eating disorders. He stated that spokeperson for tik tok said ““As soon as this issue was brought to our attention, we took action banning the accounts and removing the content that violated those guidelines, as well as banning particular search terms. As content changes, we continue to work with expert partners, update our technology and review our processes to ensure we can respond to emerging and new harmful activities.”

2)The tone of the author in paragraph 4 he looks concerned as he described the finding’s deeply disturbing and as he also said “regulators needed strong powers to sanction inaction”

3) I can infer from paragraph 6 that after the wave of press coverage disorder content on tik tok , they took many steps to do the banning process and there is something mentioned that tiktok urgently make the platform even safer , aslo that it shouldn’t restricted the search on hashtag only cause this not the best way for the user to find new content

"“It takes little more than 30 seconds to find a pro-eating disorder account on TikTok and, once a user is following the right people, their For You page will quickly be flooded with content from similar users. This is because TikTok is essentially designed to show you what it thinks you want to see.” TikTok’s For You page is a feed of videos – not always from people you follow – recommended by an algorithm based on your history. People have reported being served up accounts that regularly post about eating disorders, weight loss or diets.". as in paragraph 5

2- tone :-
-first he was aggressive by using the words like "starvation and anorexia" in the title and by using "potentially harmful" then at paragraph 7 I think he was happy by telling as "how helpful social media can be for people" also I think he was happy by telling us at paragraph 3 "TikTok launched an investigation and said it had taken action to ban harmful phrases"

3 - inference :
 - many people had an issue with thier weight and they want an quick solutions for it and actually a diet platforms are spread wide all over the world and with some uneducated person in a video can make a mess, "3. After being presented with the findings, TikTok launched an investigation and said it had taken action to ban harmful phrases across all search verticals, including when searching for users. One account showed messages from a girl saying she wanted tips on losing a lot of weight, in a healthy or unhealthy way. Another account said: “This is a warning if you don’t like stuff about starving leave please.” Another user asked people to follow for “low calorie” safe food when you don’t want to purge, a form of an eating disorder that involves self-induced vomiting, misuse of laxatives or medications. TikTok said it had banned six accounts flagged to them for violating the community guidelines on posting content that promotes eating habits that are likely to cause health problems." as in paragraph 3

Teenagers are trying to become an influencer and thinking of becoming upcoming models.

Social media is a large part of the teenager population. There are many reasons for this such as entertainment, saving time, and ease of use. The following article will explore the different reasons teens prefer to use TikTok above other social media platforms.

Tik Tok is a short video sharing app that was founded in 2016 and has gained popularity among the teen population because it offers more than just videos and images like other popular social media sites such as Twitter or Snapchat; there are also lip syncs, what’s happening now moments, and chatting with friends on your feed. Tik Tok is used by millions of individuals around the world of various ages making it more accessible to different age groups.

When asked the importance of social media in daily life, 40% of teens said that they find it important to communicate with family and friends through social media (Rosen, 2019). Many teenagers feel that Tik Tok is useful because it allows them to communicate with friends and family across distances. Tik Tok allows users to follow their favorite celebrities as well as the ability to be followed by others. The platform also has a live video feed where friends can view what each other is doing at that moment along with sharing their own videos. This makes for a great way for teens to interact with others online.

One reason why teens prefer to use Tik Tok is because they can do more than just post videos, unlike other social media sites. Teens have a hard time choosing which platform they want to use so having an option with more features allows them to be able to engage in multiple ways. Tik Tok also provides a video editing feature where users can add special effects and filters making videos more interesting. Many users have been using the feature to create their own vines or short music videos that are entertaining and unique. This allows for new and interesting experiences that many other social media platforms do not allow for.Helping them find out about the news.In keeping with modern day fashionand learning new skills.
