"Oh, you want too much!" she cried to Gatsby. "I love you now—isn't that enough? I can't help what's past." She began to sob helplessly. "I did love him once—but I loved you too." " (263-264 Fitzgerald).

This quote shows how Daisy was being ignored and her feelings for Gatsby. She loves Gatsby, but also loves Tom. She loved him once, but loved the other as well.

Daisy's running around alone, for on the following Saturday night he came with her to Gatsby's party.

Daisy goes to Gatsby's parties but this time Tom tags along, I think this is going to make Daisy not want to go because her and Gatsby cannot flirt like they do with tom around.

Daisy decides to admit her true feelings about Tom. Daisy is conflicted because she loves both Tom and Gatsby, or at least she did at one point. Both Tom and Gatsby believe they are the right ones here, but neither is correct according to this quote. Daisy has to make a big decision soon, and it seems like she will keep things as they are.

"Yes," he said after a moment, "but of course I'll say I was. You see, when we left New York she was very nervous and she thought it would steady her to drive—and this woman rushed out at us just as we were passing a car coming the other way. It all happened in a minute but it seemed to me that she wanted to speak to us, thought we were somebody she knew. Well, first Daisy turned away from the woman toward the other car, and then she lost her nerve and turned back. The second my hand reached the wheel I felt the shock—it must have killed her instantly" (Fitzgerald 7).

this quote shows that It was unintentional that Daisy killed myrtle, it was a matter of coincidence that the other car came. Otherwise Daisy would be able to dodge myrtle

 

Gatsby-

In chapter 6 Gatsby talks about how much he loves gatsby. It has been 5 years since they dated and in that time Daisy got a husband and even had a child. Gatsby is away from this but he still is in love with her after this whole time and says, “One of them was that, after she was free, they were to go back to Louisville and be married from her house—just as if it were five years ago”. Despite everything, he loves her so much he’s still willing to get back with her. In the quote, “He knew that when he kissed this girl and forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of God”, he also expresses precisely how he feels kissing the love of his life. 

Daisy- 
Daisy is clearly into old money rather than new money like Gatsby. In chapter 6 when Daisy and Tom went over to Gatsby’s they weren’t impressed at all by his party. This hurts Gatsby as everything he did was for her, and she just dismisses it, “and now I was looking at it again, through Daisy's eyes. It is invariably saddening to look through new eyes at things upon which you have expended your own powers of adjustment”. Here he expresses his sadness because he realized daisy didn't like it, “She didn't like it," he insisted. "She didn't have a good time”. 

New York Apartment- 

What is the most important or one of your favorite quotes from the scene and argument in the New York apartment in chapter 7? Use pg. 91 (drive to the city) and 97-102 (the city)/ Book 121-222, 128-134.

Chapter 7 was filled with surprises. One of my favorite quotes I had was when Daisy got up, kissed gatsby, and told him she loved him while her husband was in the same house with multiple witnesses. She was very bold in this, “As he left the room again she got up and went over to Gatsby and pulled his face down kissing him on the mouth."You know I love you," she murmured”. This is shocking because although Daisy would prefer to be with Gatsby, he's new money and she doesn't love him enough, or at all to be with him. 

The accident-
Multiple things happened in chapter 7. Myrtle was not lucky at all, she had her nose broken, then she was killed. Her being killed was the most important thing that happened because from here an investigation went on and they blamed gatsby for killing myrtle when in reality Daisy did by Running her over In gatsby's car. Gatsby is of course going  to say he did because he is in love with daisy, “Was Daisy driving?" "Yes," he said after a moment, "but of course, I'll say I was”. And Daisy will of course let him take the fall for this. The quote, “Well, first Daisy turned away from the woman toward the other car, and then she lost her nerve and turned back. The second my hand reached the wheel I felt the shock—it must have killed her instantly”. Is important to know because that proved that daisy was the murderer, not Gatsby and she should be locked up but she’s not. 

"Can't repeat the past?" he cried incredulously. "Why of course you can!". This shows how much he loves this woman after all these years. He'd rather relive the past than restart. He believes his fantasies can work out if they try.

"Yes," he said after a moment, "but of course I'll say I was."
Gatsby must really love Daisy because I don't think a man would do this to a woman who's married to another man. He would risk everything for her even though she wouldn't possibly do the same.

i used this quote because tom came over gatsby's house and hes trying to offer him something but he does not want anything.

I chose this quote because when they say she sang bringing out a meaning in each word that it had never had before it shows that she was probably singing a love song. The words she sang probably related to her situation.

Tom was clearly upset in the beginning of the chapter because of Daisy. as soon as Gatsby revealed that she has only been having an affair with him till now, Tom understands that he has absolutely nothing to worry about. This quote reveals how he wasnt afraid of both of them going back home together because of how he knew daisy didnt want Gatsby anymore.

This quote changes how Tom acts for the rest of the chapter. We see him being shown as an ignorant violent masculine man. However after he had seen myrtles body, he was much more calmer and was not the high tempered person we know his character as.
