I think the negative side of things are the kids who depend on school for a lot of things like grades, academic and other help, a place to feel safe, and more.  Me personally I didn't feel safe going back to school that early and had a feeling it would make me actually less productive, because complicated situations make me scatter brained and irresponsible easily.
