Positive guidance focuses more on building the child’s control over self than the adult’s control over the child. Positive guidance is important as the child would focus on building up their self-control rather than focusing on a behavioral outcome. It requires, perhaps, a shift in thinking.

Some of the good practices that has been observed at my centre would be a teacher pointing out the positive things a child is doing like "I like how Sarah is playing with her toys." I like how Adam is using his indoor voice when he is playing.

Another example would be when the teacher praises the children when they do something good such as keeping their toys for their friend even though they are not the ones taking out the toys to play. Last but not least when children show they are being able to share toys together and the teacher praises them thus, children will be motivated to play and share together in future.

Positive Guidance:
1. Through role modelling. Eg; Teacher can model good behaviour such as usage of language like Yes please, No thank you, May I.
2. Through reasoning instead of punishment.
3. Reward good behaviour such as praises.

Positive Guidance:

1. It is a framework in which children can learn acceptable social practices and ways to express their feelings. Children need guidance in order to be safe, stay physically and emotionally healthy, develop social, intellectual and language skills, and develop self-concept and self-control.

2. Avoid raising your voice. Talk it out, in any kind of situation. In a centre, we practice breathing techniques to self-regulate our emotion - Applicable to both Teacher and Students. There is even a calming corner for us to do that.

3. Positive guidance is important. It serves as one of the main role to mold a child into a discipline, engaging and confident.

4. Positive Guidance = Mirror for the child.
they mirror our actions. Therefore, we need to be fully aware of what we say and how we act in front of them.

5. Strategies: Be a good role model.

6.

1. Providing the necessary help and support to children's development and growth by being a positive influence. Our focus should be on the child's needs instead of what we want for the child. We should give positive support to children such as encouraging the children to do the right things with patience and letting the children explore their learning journey through guidance instead of doing it for them.

2. Yes, it is necessary and important.
