I like the idea theoretically, but practically it can be an issue, whether it be internet connectivity, accessibility to devices, and distractions caused by the devices.

Technology does not guarantee engagement. Students are going to find excuses not to do the work regardless of the medium. You will find similar problems with both traditional and tech driven activities. Do not be afraid to engage students using technology.

Technology is WONDERFUL, so long as it is actually working. I cannot tell you the number of times I was forced to "drop back and punt" b/c our internet system was down, or the site was running too slow to be considered a productive use of instructional time.

I agree that we should start small. Try incorporating one small piece of tech at a time. That makes it less intimidating and more enjoyable for everyone. Through time, we will become more familiar and comfortable with different tech tools.
