This shouldn't effect their ability to express their views. Freedom of speech. Activism is important. We see it all over the word right now. People should be speaking out. If athletes decide to do the same, they should. It doesn't interfere with their game, its just a different side. Their not just "athletes", they are more than that; they have views, opinions. If not cause change they can also raise awareness on the topic. I think that there are limits to when they should express their views. This would be when they are causing a negative instead of a positive impact on people. I don't think that the activism of athletes interfere with mine or other fans' enjoyment of the game. It's not a responsibility for them to speak up about issues but It's a great idea for them to do so. They shouldn't feel pressured to speak up about things going on, but It'll help our world to be more aware about what's going on. I personally do think favorably about athletes who take political stands because they're taking time to speak up for people who don't think they have a voice. People who are battling with identity or race and think they aren't able to speak out for themselves, bigger athletes will help a lot with that. People will feel more comftrable with themselves.
