A good example of consent is if you ask if a friend of yours wants a sandwich. If they say they would like a sandwich then they consent. If they say no, then that is not consent.

If someone says that they do not want a sandwich, nut you want them to have it, you can't force them to eat the sandwich. If they say yes at the time and you make it, but then they change their mind and say no, that is not consent. Sure, it would be annoying, but you cannot force them to eat a sandwich that they did not give consent to. A person cannot give consent if they are unconscious, asleep or drunk. If you force feed the sandwich to them while they are unconscious, drunk or asleep, you can be in serious trouble.
