This is my page where I will share the educational tools I've used and learned from this course.

But before that, can I just talk about how much fun I have throughout this course? And how much I've gained knowledge? It's A LOT!

Special thanks to Prof Aziah who has helped me throughout this whole course. She is indeed a very amazing lecturer and one of the best ones I've ever encountered.

Back when I was a little kid, my parents told me that my late grandmother (who I called 'Opah') gave me my name. They said that Opah really liked this late 90's malay drama and she named me after the lead woman character's name. So, yeah, that's how my name ended up as Normyra Natasya :)

Hm, what else? I've already turned 20 years old last April. I'm the first born among my other 4 siblings. I love spicy food, especially tom yum. I prefer noodles over rice, hot food over cold food, and I have a very sweet tooth. But, I'm cutting down my sugar intake, it's not good :(

I've always wanted to be an educator. My form 5 English teacher helped me choose this path and basically guided me - what course to choose, which university is the best and all that (thank you sir Salleh.)

I hope that one day, I'll be a very successful educator - doesn't matter if I'm a teacher or lecturer, but as long as I can teach, I'd love my job (hopefully)

Oh, and I love anime :3

I've been using Padlet ever since I've started my journey as a university student. My grammar lecturer back in UiTM Dengkil, Sir Irwan was the first lecturer who taught me and my foundation classmates on how to use Padlet.

Padlet is almost like a buletin board. A board where you can literally post almost everything. Both teachers and students can use it to display information about any topic. Not only that they can put up information, they can also upload files and pictures to share with people who visit the padlet page.

Usually, the teachers or lecturers are the one who will create the page, not the students - and they would set the page to private whether giving access to students through password or a link.

But, this is my very own padlet page! Specialized for an assignment for my EDU456 course.

Mindmeister is basically an online mapping tool. Instead of drawing and sketching on your paper, you can simply make one on this website! (p/s: too much paper usage = too many trees being cut down, we don't want that, do we?)

I personally find this app very easy to use and it helps you organize your thoughts in a simple way! You can brainstorm, visualize, map it down and present or share to anyone you want - whether it be your classmates, or lecturers! Say goodbye to messy thoughts and hello to Mindmeister!

The links that I've attached below are the two maps I've done during this semester using mindmeister.

Pixton. My most favorite online learning tool that has been introduced by Prof. Aziah!

This tool helps students and teachers especially to create storyboards, comics and even a graphic novel! Sounds very cool and 21st century-ish right?

So, few months ago, Prof gave us our login details and we can actually customize our own character! Imagine how cool it is! I really had fun making a cartoon, or should I say, Pixton version of me.

I was also assigned to make a short comic strip based on a digital technology issue. It was enjoyable and I kind of got lost in time making the comic strip because I got too distracted with the various choices of scenes and others.

Here is the comic strip I did the other day https://share.pixton.com/ppmtu0h

If you're looking for a way to publish your work digitally and make it look almost like a a magazine, Flipsnack is the answer! It's so easy - you just have to upload a PDF file and the website will convert it into a HTML5 file and you're digital work will be published in no time!
Or in an alternative way, you can create your work in the website itself.

I've even used Flipsnack myself and I find it very easy to use. My classmates and I were assigned to do a task where we have to edit a given word document upload it on Flipsnack. We actually learned how to add headings, change fonts and colors, adding image and how to adjust it and etc. We have to design the word document according to our own liking. I did mine and I could say that I'm really proud of my work! I'll attach a link under this paragraph so you can check it out! :)

https://www.flipsnack.com/fgs20/masako-wakamiya.html

Making a video could never be any easier once you started using Biteable! This online video making software can help anyone make an animated video in less than an hour (if you put your mind to it) or maybe more - but I can guarantee, it's so easy to use and very recommended for teachers and students to do any animated video presentations!

Prof Aziah, my lecturer, yet again assigned us to do a video presentation based on an ebook that we chose. Basically an ebook review. We can also choose to enter the UiTM ebook competition with other students.

Biteable gives access to a lot of stock footage, video animation and effects and it was very exciting for me to explore everything one by one! Although I didn't get to finish exploring (because there were a lot), I did have a good time making a Biteable video for my ebook review! Attached below is the link to the video I made using the software.

https://biteable.com/watch/ebook-2569910

Google Keep!!! I would really like to thank Prof Aziah for introducing this extension to me because it really has made my life easier.

What is Google Keep you might ask? It's an extension, or an app where you can ditch your papers or notebooks and pens, and write or type notes digitally! While you read an article, or ebook, basically anything, you can also jot down notes on your computer.

When Prof Aziah gave us a task - reading an article and then scribble down notes on Google Keep, I honestly was very confused as I didn't know what Google Keep was. I thought it was just like Google Drive where I can 'keep' my stuff, you know? Silly of me hahaha. So I asked one of my classmates and he helped me through it.

Article reading and note writing has never been more fun since I used Google Keep. Oh here is the screen capture of the notes I wrote down while reading the article that Prof has assigned to us.

Besides Pixton, I really love Coursera!

Coursera is an online learning platform - where you can join almost any classes for free, and you can get a certificate to show you joined and 'graduated' from the course. Unfortunately, that isn't free. Joining the course is, but not the certificate.

Yes, I discovered Coursera through Prof Aziah again (thank you prof). This time, we don't have to meet online through Google Keep for two weeks because we had to go through MOOC (massive open online course). My classmates and I were assigned to join this one course called "Learning How to Learn: Powerful mental tools to help you master tough subjects".

The course is very informative and I learned a lot of very important things I need to know while studying or learning. Plus, the instructor, Barbara Oakley, had an amazing way presenting and teaching the students online.

Anyway, our assignment was to finish week 1 of the course. However, once we're finished, we can continue the course but that's on us. Nothing is forced.

I passed the quizzes and learned a lot from the course. I will definitely keep everything in mind and try to put everything I've learned in use in real life.

By the way, here are my results from week 1 of the Learning How to Learn course :)

Canva is basically a graphic design platform where anyone can create posters, media graphics and presentations.

I always use Canva to create my presentations because it has a lot of interesting templates and stickers and even fonts! You can use it for free but you have to pay more to access unlocked features of Canva.

It's not like I don't like doing my presentations on Microsoft PowerPoint, but on Canva, it's accessible and much more easier to create presentations and posters.
