I am glad to see Student Voice as a part of this framework. Working at Noble where we have structures for every single topic, student voice tends to be left out in their own educational experience. Allowing students to voice what they want their own experience to be like allows for students to be bought in with what we are doing.

I think this is a strong priority because the goal should be for students to want to come to class and feel safe and welcomed. They should feel confident that we want them in our classroom ready to learn more about the subject and also about their individuality. That is a rewarding moment in itself.

Education should be applicable in real-world contexts. Noble is really data driven (test scores, attendance, GPA, etc) as well as the structures that we often forget to focus on making education meaningful for students in the context of their families, communities, and life after high school.

The importance of having student voice shows that they matter in the classroom. Sometimes we are focus on ensuring that they have the education but we have to consider students opinions and voices on what we present to them. The value of students to be able to connect in the material and beyond can have an impact to their success.

I think the element of recognizing the humanity in both students and staff is key. The ability for both to show up a give and receive of their greatest quality self requires the acknowledgement and nurturing to the parts that lives beyond their spaces of required performance or deliverables.
