Two friends reunite after High School at a reunion and find out that they both had feelings for each other back then, and they both leave with their partners, wondering if things would have been different if they had told each other how they felt back then.

A boy only in high school is sentenced to the death penalty and he looks back at the events which led him up to this point. Before it is time to go to the execution room.

I like stories with limited space and tension. Maybe something about two soldiers from opposite sides in WWI, who get stuck in the same shell crater in the middle of no-man's land. I think you could have some interesting conversations there.  

Something about Spain; colors and wind, very imagery-heavy. A couple on vacation dealing with cultural differences. Or one is there for work and the other is just trying to get them to relax. Very Anthony Doerr, Four Seasons in Rome-esque. 

A pair of siblings; one has been given one month to live and the other has to deal with it. Probably bittersweet, muted stormy seasides.
