Engage - Students will be told we are going on a virtual field trip! We will have the oppourtunity to explore science topics in new environments without even leaving our classroom! Questions will be asked such as: "knowing today, we are focusing on the standard "Growth and Development of Organisms. Where do you think we may take a virtual field trip to?"

Explore - Students will observe the virtual feild trip. They will be given a notetaking device and asked open ended questions such as: "What do you see in this video that relates to the growth and development of organisms?". They will spend time exploring and taking notes of their observations on their own.

Explain - Students will get a chance to share their observations with a partner, then ultimately share with the whole class. The teacher will lead discussion and help the students make observations between their findings and the NGSS standard.

Elaborate - The students will continue to research organism life cycles in text and online. Students will research with their evaluative project in mind.

Evaluate - 3-LS1-1.Develop models to describe that organisms have unique and diverse life cycles, but all have in common birth, growth, reproduction, and death. Students will use their knowledge to construct a model of either a plant or animal life cycle, depending on which field trip was used for the lesson.
