Visiting Starbucks was another activity we enjoyed doing together. Frappe's and hot chocolates were devoured whilst engaging in conversations.

Tenpin Bowling

Both myself and my mentee enjoyed bowling together. Again, this is an activity that we can still enjoy whilst conversing.

Some activities were hard for my mentee to fulfil. We managed a mini-golf session one time and both agreed it was beneficial for our mental health to try new things, this is also analysed by Santini, et al. (2021). We both enjoyed this activity whilst discussing some things weighing on their mind.

Designer Outlet

Shopping and a meal at McDonald's at the designer outlet was a often occurrence for us through the winter months.

Pear tree farm

I believe to have built a positive relationship with my mentee, which is growing more each week. As DuBois and Silverthorn (2005) state in their analysis building a strong, positive and close relationship with the young person is beneficial to their psychological health. I feel that the relationship we have built together has had a positive impact on my mentee's mental health as it has enabled her to be open with me and express her feelings, struggles and positive experiences.

Maintaining confidentiality with my mentee has been a successful objective. They did not share anything with me that I considered to be a risk to their health or safety. In my opinion, we share a respectful confidential relationship, which has enabled them to open up to me about worries as well as positive aspects in their life.

Whilst our relationship has grown and we have become more comfortable with one another, I feel my mentee has embraced the safe and unprejudiced approach I have brought to our sessions. I believe they feel able to share their views, interpersonal relationship encounters and other life experiences and issues with me.

I found part of this objective difficult to meet as the mentee did not have specific goals. I am of the opinion that the mentee feels supported by me through other issues they have brought to me. I have engaged with them with empowering words and hopefully boosted their self-esteem through encouraging conversations.
