Separating Mixtures Activity

Learners explored how to separate a mixture of materials (raw pasta, sand, pin and beans) based on their physical properties. They separated raw pasta by hand picking, pin by a magnet and then used a sieve to separate larger particles from smaller ones such as sand from beans. This hands-on activity illustrated concepts of size and magnetism in a practical and engaging way.

Experiment - Making Carbon Dioxide Gas

Learners observed combining sodium bicarbonate and vinegar in a container to produce carbon dioxide gas. As they both reacted, bubbles were formed creating a fizzy effect. This hands-on activity demonstrates a chemical reaction and the properties of gas.

Learners mixed salt and sugar into separate beakers to see how they get dissolved. They learnt that both salt and sugar mix into the water and are called soluble substances.
