My parents have retired and my dad's advice for new retirees is always the same. "Spend the first year sitting in a rocking chair on the porch. Spend the second year actually rocking." LOL

You realize that is a long time. However, your students loved you and learned so much from you in the classroom. You are a great teacher and friend to the students and I know they appreciate all you do for them.
I do not know if this means you are retiring, but if so, Enjoy your days doing what you want to do!

You have given so much of yourself to this college, your students, and co-workers.  I want to thank you for the honor and privilege of being one of those that can call you friend.  I have known you for a long time and seen go through the many changes of the college, and you have faced them with dignity, patience and understanding. Over the years you always shared your knowledge with such enjoyment and delight, how lucky are your students and anyone that wanted to learn from you.  You are truly a kind soul, Ken and will certainly be missed.  Take care and enjoy each and every day, you have earned the break.  I wish you all the best.
