Suffel spent the next few years working at Shirley's franchise where helped develop a marketing plan.  helped develop promotional materials for the store, including graphics and social media captions. She also volunteered behind the counter at a Shirley's location, where she helped make popcorn and learned about the company's products. The store is also growing online, thanks to its location in Houston. Its franchise concept is now thriving in the region, and the Blankemeyers are excited to expand their business.

Another new location will open in Houston, this fall. Anna Mae and John Blankemeyer, both from Ottawa, are opening the company's seventh official franchise location in uptown Westerville this fall. The vibrant neighborhood and historic location proved to be a good fit for the couple. They are looking forward to opening their new business in the next few months. But before opening the new location, John and Anna Mae Blankemeyer are looking forward to bringing Shirley's gourmet popcorn to the local community.
