Description: When I was 13 years old, I taught myself how to crochet via Youtube. The became an eye-opening experience of how something that may be perceived as easy, can actually be very difficult. I have made several creations for my friends and family.
This event taught me that I should be respectful and generous to everyone who deserves to be treated in such a manner.
I developed the belief that professional crocheters are very talented and should be respected.
One decision I make due to this belief is making crochet projects for my friends.
Another decision I make due to this belief is respecting others, including those who I don't know well.
This belief comes up when I watch a crochet YouTube video.
When I act on the belief I've identified, it results in positive effects. People also treat me with respect and are kind to me as I was to them. I need to KEEP this belief.
I like the results of my actions. The results inspire me.

2. Playing My Cello at Church/ Pivot Plan Post

Description: In the 6th grade, I was taught how to play the Cello. Over the course of several years, I have learned many new techniques and performance etiquette. I now apply many of these lessons to everyday life.
This event taught me to be sure to properly prepare in order to show the best representation of myself.
I developed the belief that I need to always show the best representation of myself and should always try my best.
One decision I make due to this belief is I always study prior to every test
Another decision I make due to this belief is that I never procrastinate and make a list of tasks so that I can get things done soon and don't forget to do anything.
This belief comes up when I am getting ready for one of my Mid-Term exams.
When I act of the belief I've identified, it results in some negative effects. This belief helps me learn more efficiently, but it also contributes to stress and makes me overwhelmed by the workload.
I am unsatisfied with the results of my actions.
These results make me anxious. This is because I feel very stressed due to the expectation that I should be perfect. I need to PIVOT.
*I want to change this belief. I will reframe this belief by focusing on catching negative thoughts and replacing them with positive ones. This will result in me having a more positive outlook on life and being less stressed.
*Instead of saying "I need to be perfect" I should replace this with "I should try to improve everyday".

* I foresee that making this change in my thoughts and beliefs will benefit me by allowing me to become less stressed while still doing well in school.

Description: Last year, I learned that I had received the opportunity to be part of the inaugural class of P-TECH at Tomball Star Academy. I felt that this was an amazing opportunity to better myself and learn about my career interests and future.
This event taught me that I am capable of reaching my dreams of becoming a Pediatrician.
I developed the belief that I should be invested in learning about the best colleges for the Health Science career cluster and I should also be invested in learning more about my career interests.
One decision I make due to this belief is I look for different personality and aptitude tests to help me find careers that I may be interested in.
Another decision I make due to this belief is that I research about different colleges that are known for their Health Science education.
This belief comes up when someone asks me what college I want to go to and what I want to be when I'm older.
When I act on the belief I've identified I am satisfied because I feel that I am a step ahead.
I like the results of my actions. They result in me being better prepared for the future. I want to KEEP this belief.
The results inform me and make me look forward to my future.

Description: When I was only 4 years old, my family got into a serious car accident. During this time, we were driving to a birthday party. Due to my dad's unhealthy condition, he had passed out behind the wheel of our Hummer. My mother tried to overtake the wheel and steer us in the right direction, but this did not help. We ended up running right into a concrete column under a highway.
This event taught me that my dad had serious health problems.
I developed the belief that I should take care of my family and advise everyone to make healthy choices.
One decision I make due to this belief is that I advise my dad to exercise and I work-out with him when he does.
Another decision I make due to this belief is that I talk with people about nutrition content in different types of food.
This belief comes up when my father has to go to the hospital or doctor.
When I act on the belief I've identified it results in positive effects. My family know that I care about them and the people who I talk to understand that I am interested in their well-being.
I am satisfied with the results of my actions. I want to KEEP this belief.
The results inspire me to improve over time and become a better person.

Description: On November 17, 2020 my great-grandmother passed away at the age of 92. I had been very close to her and it was tough for me to move on from the loss.
This event taught me to enjoy every moment and to live life to the fullest.
I developed the belief that we should cherish life.
One decision I make due to this belief is that I try not to stress too much about my workload or my grades. Instead, I direct my frustration towards doing better in school and being grateful for the good things in my life.
Another decision I make due to this belief is I choose not to procrastinate so that I can have more free time to spend with family and doing the things we enjoy.
This belief comes up when I get in an argument with someone.
When I act on the belief I've identified it results in positive effects. This is because I now understand that we should appreciate every moment in life. Some positive effects are that I no longer stress as much as I used to and avoid procrastinating.
I like the results of my actions. I want to KEEP this belief.
The results make me happy and encourage me to live a happier and healthier life.
