I spent an amazing week here with my university friends because one of them owned a stationary caravan close by. It was incredibly pretty, we had gorgeous blue skies all week, and some of my fondest memories are of lounging around the caravan after a big night of partying dozing while Wimbledon was on in the background.

The millenium bridge is one I have crossed so many times, as it links southbank to St Paul's cathedral (and the one new change shopping centre beyond it). The Tate Modern's also right behind me in the picture, so it's a very good place to aim for to be able to do a lot of sightseeing in not much time.

London is a beautiful city, and one of the most vibrant and alive places I've ever been, however if you're not careful you can end up just going to the same places over and over again, and there is a real difference between the things a local would show you and the stuff you would find online. For example, the London Eye is a classic monument but due to the buildings that have now been constructed around it and the 2 hour queue to get in I'm just not sure it's worth it anymore. Camden is beautiful and amazing to visit, but try walking up towards Primrose Hill along the canal for an AMAZING view of London from the top of the hill. Shoreditch is a great place to visit as well, and when the virus subsides the markets there are a great place to get some tasty food! If you want to go shopping, Carnaby Street is the place to do it, with a ton of branded shops and great places to visit. There's also a Five Guys in case you get hungry there, which I would definitely reccommend

I could NOT recommend York enough. It's a gorgeous old city which is still largely contained within the old city walls, with cobbled streets and gorgeous old buildings. The Minster is really a sight to behold, and if you're of the more party-going variety, try out one of its 360+ bars and pubs within the city walls. There's a Christmas market in the centre of town every year (see photo), which is really good to visit. I'd recommend going in the Winter to really appreciate the cosy vibe of the city, and opposite the minster is a pub which is in the building in which Guy Fawkes was born! The city tour is amazing, and I'd really recommend it if you're looking for that authentic 'English' experience.

Ahhh Whitby, the city in which Dracula is set. I've spent some of my most fond summers up there, and on the beach in the neighbouring Scarborough as well, they're both very northern British destinations for the summer. The city itself is very pretty, and if you've ever wondered what all the fuss is about fish and chips in England, then Whitby has some of the best (if not the best) in the UK - although beware, the sea doesn't ever really get warm up there in the North, so go for a swim on a cloudy day at your peril!
