To be able to speak out publicly freely without fear is extremely important to me. You should be able to have a voice no matter how you look like or what you believe in. In some countries citizens are afraid to speak on issues because of the government. In the first Amendment fortunately it guarantees a person's freedom to express themselves however they wish.

Also includes the right against self-incrimination and others already discussed. If a person is broke they should have the right to have the counsel assign them a lawyer to have a fair trial. It creates a limit on the power of the government and its agents in law enforcement to intrude on the private property and person without probable cause or judicial oversight. The picture below describes a situation where cops usually ignore the fourth amendment.
