  • Gaucher syndrome is caused by the lysosomes inability to break down glucosylceramidase.
    • Treatment 
    • Enzyme replacement: decrease liver and spleen size and reduce skeletal deformities 
    Some medications are:

    • Velaglucerase afa

    • imiglucerase

    • Taliglucerase alfa

    • Eliglustat

    All these medications are made to help the lysosomes break down the glucosylceramidase.
