Extermination is the mass killing of victims or getting rid of a group of people. During the Armenian/ Turkey genocide there was deportation, shootings, exile to Syrian desert, gas and suffocation massacres, and burning commence to eliminate Armenians. In 1845 between 100,000 and 300,000 Armenians were massacred and then in 1905 another 15,000 to 30,000 people were killed each day. On April 24, 1915 the Ottoman government imprisoned about 250 Armenians and leader which marked the beginning of the genocide. Armenians were marched into Syrian deserts. It was called the death march because the Ottoman government didn't provide the extensive facilities or supplies that was needed to help hundreds of thousands of people to survive. Most people didn't surprise and those who survived the march were doomed, the government had a plan to exterminate all Armenian people. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Genocide

After Armenian protests and complaints were spread through the empire, the Turkish government organized groups such as a killing squad called the, "Butcher Battalions" in 1915 to eliminate those outcries. These people were usually comprised of dangerous criminals and ex-convicts who used methods of torture to cause pain and suffering for the Armenians. The government also organized it's military for its efforts.
