My family does have vacations during the summer to see different lakes, mountains, hills, caves, and bays, but that's all for my experience of nature. My first time seeing snow is when I was twelve; it's when I got to go camping with my school. I have learned many survival skills in the three days, and I'd wish I will be able to have another similar trip. I personally love looking at nature because it has its own beauty that no one can create. Sometimes I'm scared of the wilderness, but I'm curious about what is out there. In the future, I would definitely travel around the national parks before it's too late.

Chris doesn't have anything besides his rifle and a backpack with a ten-pound bag of rice (p. 5). Gallien tried to convince him that it's dangerous, but Chris was determined (p. 6). They turned to the Stampede trail where it's steep and deteriorated (p. 6) due to the snow. Gallien gave him some food and the boots, then took a picture for him before he head out to the wilderness (p. 5) on Tuesday, April 28, 1992.

Analysis:  If I am Gallien, I will be surprised when I see Alex heading off to the wilderness with nothing prepared. I would rather drive him to town instead of the trail.

He has the help signal outside of the bus in hope that someone passes by will see it, but eventually the hunters discovered him from the smell of his decomposed (pg. 11) body. Chris has been dead for two and a half week, and it's extremely difficult for the police (pg. 11) to identify him, especially when he doesn't have any identification (pg. 11) paper with him. Some sources that come along with Chris's remain are his signature from the SOS note, and the photos (pg. 11).

Analysis:  I wonder how does it feel to die alone in the wilderness without the love ones knowing or anyone nearby. I think Chris might have feel very hopeless because he couldn't save himself.

In this chapter, Chris McCandless's background is unfolding that he is from a middle-class (pg. 19) family in Virginia.  He doesn't have much connection with his family, especially when his parents want to buy him a new car, (pg. 20) and he disagrees. He has been traveling with his beloved yellow Datsun during the summer before this journey, and thought there is no need for a new one. When he went away, the only time they heard from hear is about his final grade (pg. 21) and the weather of Atlanta. As we've known, Chris McCandless adopted a new name, Alexander Supertramp, for his whole new life on the journey to be free (pg. 23) the wilderness.

Analysis: I disagree with how Chris McCandless left his family without saying a goodbye. He seems very cold and reckless when his last letter is about his grade report and some random weather since his parents couldn't contact him because he doesn't have a phone.

The reason behind the abandon of his car was because he couldn't turn it on after the flood (pg. 19). He then hiked by walking (pg. 20) and was discover by a couple, Burres and Bob, where he stayed with them for two months and then give him a ride to his next location.  He also work for a guy, but didn't get pay. Chris made his entry to Mexico, but it didn't go really well and he lost (pg. 24) a couple of times. In the mean time, his parents (pg. 22) were searching for him and found that he has donated his money to charity.

Analysis: I don't think it's a good idea for Chris to abandoned his car and burned his money. He should have wait a day or so to see if the the car is working since the engine has to dry up.

Analysis: I'm amazed by Chris's personality because he attracts people, yet he gets away when they try to be close with him. It's weird, but cool at the same time.

Analysis: I really admired him for going to different places and carved NEMO. It gives the hint and evidence to the people, yet he has his ending unopened and it seems like no one will be able to unbox it.

Analysis: I really admired how smart and talent Chris was. It's such a waste that he died at a young age. However, his behavior seem strange to me because he enjoy being alone, but he also want to interact with others, yet he doesn't like too much interaction and connection.

Analysis: It makes sense how he acts toward his parents now, but it's weird that he also ignored his sister, who is very close to him. He shouldn't be mad as his mother either because she didn't do anything wrong.

Carine was eating after she knows that her brother died of starvation, yet later she and her mother lost (pg.131) ten pounds.

Analysis: I think Buck would have save Chris's life if they let the dog goes with him. I wonder what would happen if they actually did. I can't imagine how the family let Chris go without worrying what would happened to him for so long.

Then, he talked about his father, Lewis Krakauer. Similar to Chris, Jon didn't have a good relationship with his dad. Both young boys are forced to follow the successful path of becoming doctors and lawyers, where Jon went to a normal college (pg. 148) instead of Havard. There is a family issue too that he stated as a secret (pg.148) and he went climbing the mountain as a part to prove to his father and going out of his rage. His father ended up suffering from post-polio syndrome and tried to suicide (pg. 149) once, where he cosigned in the psychiatric hospital. He finished climbing the mountain, where he got to the summit (pg. 153) by the easier path. He compared himself to Chris, that he is still more understandable and predictable than Chris.

Analysis: The author has a very interesting trip, where he is somewhat smarter than Chris for not trying to actually go into the wild. I wonder what's the family secret that causes him and his father's broken relationship. I feel sorry for both of the fathers because they're so successful, yet they can have a nice time with their son.

Stuckey also looks for Chris after he is done with his work, and Chris is nowhere to be seen. Gallien picked up Chris and let him off at the Park, where Chris began his journey. After two months in nature, Chris decided to go back. But, he couldn't cross the river and with no map, he lost his chance of crossing the river with the gorge (pg. 170).

Analysis: I feel so sad for Chris because if only he's willing to walk along the river to figure out a way to cross it. I mean as a smart guy if he wants to go back bad enough, he'll try to do anything, and he was close to the high way too.

He figured out there is a basket for the hydrologists and used it crossing the river. If only Chris has a map, he would've cross the river easily. When Jon got to the bus, he was surprised by the bone of the moose that Chris killed, and he also provided that the hunters who have found Chris' body claimed it's a caribou (pg. 177). So, it proves Chris is not prepared at all to them, but in the end, it's a moose. Then, Jon went in the bus and described the display that Chris left for the readers to picture his life in the bus. From the feather of the bird to the grafitti (pg. 179) people left on metal walls. Chris wrote down most of the thing he did in his journal (pg.183). The three guys stay pasted midnight to figure out Chris' death and how did he live his life (pg. 186) and they fall asleep.

Analysis: It's somewhat funny when the author yelled as he crossed the river on the basket. Also, I would feel so scared to be sleeping near where Chris McCandless died because I just don't like being near stuff with death related. Anyway, it's very suspenseful to feel what they went through and traced back.

He didn't kill large animal like the moose he did last time, where he only kill small animals such as squirrels (pg. 188) and frogs. Chris's health went down significantly as he didn't feed himself enough food to have the amount of calories his body need for the energy to live. In the end, he died with the note leaving behind in his journal was due to the potato seed. The author gave out many solution to why did he died, but there is no exact answer to it. People predicted there probably is the toxic (pg. 193) in the potato seed that he ate or the mold outside of the potato seed that kill him slowly, and maybe he had mistaken the sweet pea (pg. 191) with the toxic wild potato seed because they look alike. Chris did leave pass around hundred day in the wild though, and sadly he missed so many things that could save his life, i.e. the cabin (pg. 196) nearby, if only he have the map. As a result, Chris died because of starvation mid-August.

Analysis: I don't think Chris would damage the cabin because he wouldn't have the strength to do it, and neither does he thought about it since he doesn't like wasting food. I don't think Chris died because of the potato seed, he's just too weak for his body to work properly and overtime it shuts down in which he comes to the end of his life. It's a sad ending, but I think it's the best journey for Chris and he probably learned a lesson about civilization before he dies.

At first, they chose to go with the helicopter, but they change (pg. 201) their mind to actually travel like Chris. However, the river is too dangerous, therefore, they go back to the helicopter. It took only fifteen minutes (pg. 201) to reach the location that took Chris four days. Both have different when they got to Alaska. Billie felt calm and no tears come out when she sees the place while Walt felt edgy and appears at ease (pg. 203) in the end. The parents seem to somewhat understand why their son chose to stay at this place and it reminds them that their boy is strong (pg. 202), yet he had died. The ending of this is them seeing the bus slowly getting smaller (pg. 203) and disappear.

Analysis: So this is really the end of the book and the end of Chris's story. His parents will definitely miss him a lot, but as time goes by, they will move on. Luckily, Chris left something back for everyone as a legacy of himself.

They used Chris's diary to traced back and the author's work along with the scientist to do a lot of different research and test (P3). When Krakauer is about to conclude the reason for Chris' death with the lethal (P4) concentration of the beta-ODAP in the seed, he ensures it once more time by paying twenty thousand dollars with the Michigan chemists and ended up discovering the amino acid, L-canavanine. People have been eating the top of the legumes (P6), but they never eat the seed as Chris did. Therefore, the seeds are probably the thing that caused trouble for Chris. As a result, there is no confirmation and the debate (P8) is still going on. However, Chris left a legacy in everyone's mind.

Analysis: I was surprised that the author is willing to spend that much money and time to find out why Christ died. Also, I think it's a waste of time and money to find out what happened to Chris after so long because he ended up dying to starvation, where he didn't die right away which lead to a certain shock or something.

However, I want to become an entrepreneur on the side to support my finance and help me free myself and my family. 

My great dream is to actually build a legacy for myself. As a family-oriented person, I would like to take my family to every place and have good memories together. My parents have been working a lot just for us to travel once or twice a year. Therefore, my goal is to travel with my family once or twice a month instead of a year. In my opinion, I'm on track to achieve the small goals that lead me to my big goals. It is possible and I just have to work smart along with work hard.

I somewhat understand because when it comes to family trouble, we all want to go away and hide to ignore the situation. However, I don't like how he keeps holding things to himself and even his closest loved one. For example, when he writes the letter to other people, he seems to be reporting whatever happens on a daily basis and what he's thinking instead of communicating with them. Furthermore, I respect Chris for willing to donate and abandon his identity to be able to live the life he wants. I wonder why he burned the money, but he didn't burn his social security though. I hate him the most when he turned down the old man Ron. Chris didn't know that he'll be coming back alive, so why not accept to carry on the old man's surname just to make him happy. I mean he got help a lot from strangers, yet I don't feel like he return anything to them. I also don't like his coldness toward human beings. God gave him a great personality that attracts people though because everyone that interacted with him through the journey really has a good impression of the young boy, yet he somewhat wasted the gift.

His personality is something I am really curious about because I want to meet him and see how he interact with others, and I want to know what if he couldn't run away or turn people down. In the end, it's ups and downs as I read the story so shoutout for his bravery and courage to do what he wants, and praise for his family situation as well as weird behaviors sometimes.
