Describe the character/person who changed the most from the beginning of the book to the end of the book. Explain the change and what caused it.

The person that changed the most from the beginning of the the book to the end of the book was me and could potentially be you if you read this book. The book itself does not focus on a certain instance or main character but rather instances from all different types of people who have a widespread range of aspirations and goal for their life. Dweck uses so many examples to express how the concept of the fixed and growth mindset is applicable to everyone's life. Although the book was very repetitive, its simple breakdown allowed me to apply its concepts to many aspects of my life such as family, school, work, and friendships.

Above you rated this book. Explain in detail why you gave this book that score.

The main purpose of this book is to impact someones life by making them change their view on certain aspects in their life such as the ones listed in the diagram (Challenges, Obstacles, effort, etc..) I based my rating of 8 on how well Dweck's message impacted my lifestyle. Overall she kept me fairly entertained with her life stories and the life stories of important figures such as Michael Jordan and Lee Iacocca, but their were rough moments were I felt like the she was being too broad. I deducted a point from the rating because I felt she droned on about the same issues for too long which led to me feeling like I was forcing myself to keep reading just so I could get to a new point. Overall the book was pretty decent, it combined the analytical aspect of how our brains work and the emotional way we perverse things in a professional and working fashion.

This reminded me of my own life is so many different ways. A friend recommended the book to me and I was skeptical to read it because I felt like it was just going to preach about simple concepts that I already know about, but it was a lot more than that. At the time I read this book I felt trapped in my own life. I felt like my life was going in circles and that I wasn't good enough to jump outside my comfort zone. When this book talked about rebounding off of a bad test grade it reminded me of the times where I gave up after doing bad on a test. When the book talked about giving up on relationships with friends and family because of bad communication it reminded me of my poorly communicated lifestyle. Overall I think this book can apply to a lot of someones life if they read it and tried to change for the better.
