He forced the northern rulers to live in peace which allowed economy to flourish as well as the freedom of religion.

2) A golden age is a time of peace and prosperity. It also includes the advancing of technologies, or studies of subjects such as science, art, architecture, etc.

3) Women under the Gupta rule had very few rights. They could own property, and they could leave their homes without a man. Women were not treated nearly as fair as men were at the time. Women were shamed if their husband died as they were a financial concern to the family.

However, all paid taxes and that went towards such freedoms and welfare.

However I didn't know that people got paid for creating public works, this early in time.
2) The Caste System: I didn't know that their system of hierarchy was so complex and I was very surprised by the fact that there were 3000 different castes.
3)Sciences: I was surprised that the Gupta Mathematicians invented the modern day numerals, and I would like to know more about that.

I did not know The Gupta was not a golden age for all people of India.
