After the xenocide that he commtitted he became hated overtime and to hide his identity and repent for what he did he became Speaker for the dead. This showed a change to a much more compassionate and kind personality. After wiping out a whole civilization, Ender dissapeared and was labled as a killer. The pressure from the other humans and the pressure he put on himself was too much. This caused Ender to go into hiding. She only had fun when she broke the rules escaping her home of Uglytown. In the very beginning of the second book, Pretties, she is out partying and staying bubbly in Prettytown. I believe her pressures faded away because she solved most of them in the first book. She is practically in her house for most of the story, without any type of media or anyone to really interact with constantly. When the monitor was taken out of his body, that was probably a pressure that initiated the hostility because he is now not being monitored and anything can happen to him and no one will know. But after he beats up the bully at school, he sees that now he is more brave as well. He knows he must defend himself because he does not have his monitor anymore so he acts hostile.
