This is a picture of the required womens flight uniform during WWII. Audrey talks about how uncomfortable they were in the book and how different they were from the men's uniform. Some of the uniforms came with pants, but lots had skirts which she said made her angry (she wanted to wear pants).

It is written at just the right pace and has enough new information coming in to keep you hooked.

Remembering my dearest friend Jean who died in the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. She got me thorugh some of the hardest times of my life and I wouldn't have made it through without her. Thank you for being my guardian angel. We miss you more than you know.

Throughout the book there are countless examples of how the characters relied on each other, especially in hard times. Another example is how when the characters flew together during the war, they had to have a lot of trust in each other because one wrong move could be devastating.
