I believe that Victor and Thomas will always have some sort of bond to each other whether they are friends or not because Victor is the only person who really knows Thomas and his story. I felt like Thomas was judged a lot based off his storytelling. No one really showed an interest in learning who he really was, they just automatically assumed he was crazy. I feel like Troy's negative experience in the Negro League ultimately had a big impact on his life and the way he treated Cory. Cory and his mother, Rose relationship was seemingly much stronger than his relationship with Troy. While reading the play, I felt like Rose understood Cory more because she listened to him. I also believe that their relationship grew stronger when Troy had an affair on Rose because now both Rose and Cory shared broken feelings for Troy. As I read this story, I watched how Esperanza grew and developed into a woman. Reading the very last chapter, I feel like Esperanza has a very strong hold to the little red house she grew up in on Mango street. There were many memories and many stories to tell about it but in the end, she knew she could not stay there forever. That house on Mango street is what brought her closer to her neighbors, friends, and even her family. After Jing-mei's mother dies, she learns that she has two twin sisters who she has never met. Jing-mei didn't know the full story of her sisters and how they got separated from their mother until Jing-mei's father tells her. I believe what brought Jing-mei and her sisters together was the letter they wrote and the memory of their mother. Grant is a teacher who is called to help Jefferson and even though he is reluctant at first, he eventually agrees. After numerous failed attempts to get Jefferson to talk, Grant finally does so when he strikes up conversation about Jefferson's final meal. Over time, Grant has grown very close to Jefferson. He didn't see Jefferson as a "hog" like some would put it. Grant listened to Jefferson talk and learned about him and that's what ultimately caused him to grow close to Jefferson. I think this story touched on a lot of important issues that is happening around the world but I liked the fact that the importance of friendship and dignity was also added to the story.

He displayed courage in his actions, even going as far as quitting his job. The thing about Sammy is that he thought by making this courageous decision, it would bring him closer to the girls but unfortunately, it did not work in his favor. Although it was not a clear connection between Sammy and the girls, I felt like he was sort of drawn to them. This story relates to the main idea because the main idea is all about bringing people together and taking action in your life; if Sammy would have never seen those girls, he probably would have never had the courage to quit his job. I have a sister who is older than me and growing up, I always felt like she got everything she wanted unlike me. I could understand why Maggie gave in so easily to give Dee the quilts since Dee seemed like she always got what she wanted. Maggie felt like Dee had an easier life than her because she didnt have all the burn marks and scars like herself. The quilts meant something to Maggie and her mother knew that which is why she promised her the quilts in the first place. The readers did not know if Eveline would leave town with her lover or stay back with her broken family. Eventually we get the missing ending and Eveline decides not to leave. Eveline cannot leave because her family is what's important to her. It is apart of her story and she knew her mother would not want her to abandon her family or leave behind everything she's ever knew. The young girl is being told by her mother on how she should behave, how she should eat, walk, talk, etc. I feel like the chain of advice her mother was giving her could probably come off as controlling considering the young girl had no say in anything. Many girls share the same story as the young girl in this story about not having any real freedom in their lives. Cloak & Dagger is about two teenagers, Tandy and Tyrone, who develop special powers after being victims to a collapse of an oil rig in their city. The two of them are being drawn together because of their special powers and they soon learn that they have a responsibility to save the city from several threats. Tandy and Tyrone share similar stories on the night they both ended up in the water. Tandy's father died and Tyrone's brother died all on the same night right when the rig exploded. When they both learn of each other's stories, they develop a friendship and a strong bond.

But overall, I understood the plot; A father is put on trial for burning down people's barns and he tried to get his son to lie for him but he cannot. His son eventually disobeys him and warns the next family that his father was going to burn down their barn next. I enjoyed the fact that it was relatable to me and how we got to  see Esperanza grow and mature as a woman. She went through things that other teenagers go through and I think that's why I enjoyed it so much because I could see myself in some of the things she did. It reminded me of my childhood and how me and my siblings use to act when we were younger. I also enjoyed the different chapters and how each one was completely different from the other. From the beginning of the story, her mindset was completely different than what it was in the end.
