They fall in love with each so fast and so hard as if it's effortless. This is a window for me because I've never been in love. I have never felt that way about anyone, given I am only 13 years old. But from Edward's experiences, I have learned that you can fall in love with the most unexpected person and the most unexpected time.

It isn't totally decided since Alice is seeing (she sees the future) that Edward will kill Bella. But Edward seems really confident that his love for Bella will save her from her impeding death. Edward is pretty certain that everything will be okay if he is alone with Bella so I do think he will go through with his plan to take her to the meadow. But there is another conflict. It's that Edward mentally beats himself up because of how much he loves her and knows that he should leave to make her safe but he can't. He doesn't think their relationship is going to end well. Edward doesn't trust himself around Bella. Both of these conflicts tie into each other as one would not be a conflict without the other. The main external conflict affects the characters, especially Bella and Edward. Edward wants to kill her but he also loves her so that is causing major problems in the sense that he isn't able to leave her even though he knows he should. As for Bella, she is head over heels in love with a man she shouldn't be. These are the only known conflicts so far but I think there is going to be other external conflict because there was talk of other vampires coming to Forks and since unlike the Cullens, they drink human blood. (The Cullens (Edward's family) feed off of animal's blood).

But now he wants to protect her above everything else in the world. He isn't used to feeling this way and before Bella, he would have just left a human alone if a vampire was trying to kill someone. In the text he states, "None of my family was vulnerable that way. Bella was my only vulnerability." As I said before, Edward has never had a sense of vulnerability. He has always had a god complex but now he does know what it's like to love someone and it has changed him in the sense that now he does have a vulnerability. It felt like mine was about to." Again, Edward didn't believe he would ever find love and that he would be alone forever but now he has hope to be with her. Edward has never felt this feeling of happiness ever and he is finally realizing that he always wants to feel it. Always wants to be with her. I loved the books in Bella's point of view and had always wondered what Edward was thinking. I love how the author wrote how Edward changed his views on his life after he had fallen in love with Bella. I also really liked how she wrote Bella and Edward's love story. There are some things that I wish had been better or different per say. The writing was pretty good but it wasn't amazing. Don't get me wrong, Stephanie Meyer did a really good job with the writing but it just seemed like in her 15 years since she first wrote Twilight, her writing has not matured at all. Another thing I wasn't a really big fan of was the lack of representation in all aspects. I just wished there had been more of it. And the one thing that I ABSOLUTELY hated about this book was the the author added little insignificant things that absolutely disgusted me and thought that it was okay. For example, if any of the Cullen children "slipped up" and killed a human, they were forced to go to the funeral of the person that they killed. This bothered me because it's really just common sense that you don't allow the murderer of the person to go to their funeral. It just seems like that would diminish their memory. Another example is, the author romanticized sexual assault. Not by much but she did not do a very good explaining it and made it seem like, Rosalie (a victim of sexual assault), was completely fine after being wronged like that. That is usually not what happens, EVER. There are a bunch of other things but they are a bit too insignificant to talk about. Living forever per say. In this book, Edward and his family are vampires, meaning they will the forever. They are immortal. Now, in the book, some characters love the idea of forever with the people they love and others hate the idea of living forever. The concept of forever in this book is described as either a blessing or a curse. Never both. I have learned that if you have someone to live forever with and you have purpose in your life, forever is a blessing. But if you are alone and have no purpose or meaning in your life, forever is a curse. I have also learned that ones mindset also plays a big part on how you view living forever. This topic impacted the story because Alice had a vision of Bella being a vampire which means she would live forever and Edward flipped out. Edward hates living forever and wishes there was a way he could end his "pointless existence." Edward never wanted Bella to live the life he's living because he's miserable and would never be able to live with himself if she felt that way too. It was because of Edward's views on living forever that caused him to want to keep Bella human and be with her at the same time. There are a couple of weird lines she wrote in but the dialog is good none the less. She doesn't wrote a whole lot of suspense as the book doesn't seem to do any. But I will say that the author did do a good job at making sure we were invested in the story until the end. The author did write flashbacks into the book and she wrote them in a way that made it seem like it was all happening in the present. All of the flashback scenes she wrote gave a lot of background knowledge on Edward as a person and helped the reader understand better who he is as a person. The only bad choice I think she made is that she was very repetitive and basic when it came to finding better words for "said". She also wrote "'--------,' I chuckled" or "'------," I said." She wrote a lot of basic words as I said before, "said", "exclaimed", "whispered", etc.. These are good words but she just used the over, and over, and over again. And I swear she wrote that Edward chuckled at least 2 times every page. They like to go do things normal people wouldn't usually even think about. That Meme doesn't like to sit still for very long. It's interesting and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
I love Sarah J. Maas's books. They are always amazing and this is now one of my new favorites of hers. I especially like this book because of how the author wrote about all of the character's trauma. Many authors write in that characters have such awful trauma but then describe it in a way that is almost insulting. The characters are more down to Earth than almost any other book I've read. And again, I absolutely love Bryce (the main female protagonist)! I love that she is strong and not just some damsel in distress. I love that she can hold her own and doesn't let a man push her around and control her. The only two bad things I have to say about this book is that there were some moments where I had no clue what was happening because of all of the information the author was giving. And the last thing, which is my biggest annoyance in books, is that the only words she used after someone spoke was 'said', 'snarled', or 'hissed'. I HATE when authors do it and I feel like their editors really failed to mention it to them because it was sentence after sentence and after a certain point, I'm going to just start laughing because it is so bad. But anyways, I would recommend this book to anybody who loves LONG fantasy books. This book is 799 pages so you would have to be a fan of a very long book with the patients to sit through 799 pages. Bryce does a lot better at hiding it though. They are both pretty well written characters and I love both of their perspectives. I can connect with them both to a certain extent. There are more windows than mirrors in this book because both of them are not human, one is 25 years old and the other is over 200 years old, one has lost a lover and the other has lost a best friend, etc.. This book is also not set in the real world. I find that I relate more to narrators that are written to live in the real world. There are a couple of moment that I can relate to though. This is shown pretty much throughout the entire book. For example, in the beginning when Danika was still alive, Bryce didn't care the she was spat upon for being a half-breed. Didn't care that she probably wouldn't get very far because of it. And didn't care that no one would ever see her as Danika's equal. She didn't care because she was surrounded by people who loved her and would encourage her to never stop fighting. She kept going and didn't let anyone walk all over her because of the love she was being given. In the text it says, "Bryce and Sabine had hated each other from the moment the Alpha had sneered at her only child's improper, half-breed roommate that first day at CCU. And Bryce had loved Danika from the moment her roommate had offered her a hand in greetings anyway." Another example is after Danika dies. Bryce was so broken and lonely and never thought she would be normal again, until Hunt comes along. He showed her that she can overcome her sadness by showing her love and affection in either a friendly way or a romantic way. For example, in the text it says, "Fury didn't stop her prep. "Bryce was a ghost for a long while, Hunt. She pretended she wasn't, bit she was." The helicopter finally pulled into the air. "You brought her back to life."" This shows that it was because of the love that Hunt showed Bryce that she finally realized how good it felt to be happy. It was like she had a giant hole in the middle of her heart and Hunt patched it back up. The overcame this unbelievable amount of grief because of him and the love he showed her. Then, one more example, which I think is the most obvious to figure out the theme is that the sentence , "Through love, all is possible," is repeated more times than I can count in this book. It's even part of the big plot twist and towards the end when Bryce is just about ready to give up, she repeats it like she is a broken record that is stuck on that very line. Since the reader gets two different point of views there are definitely more conflicts that are noticeable. Hunt and Bryce are the two narrators and they both have really messed up pasts so there is definitely more internal conflicts individually. The 2 overall external conflicts is that there is demon that is killing everyone and Luna's Horn in missing and that is what the demon is after. But the internal conflicts of the characters seem a little more important to me than the external conflicts. For Bryce, after seeing Danika and the Pack of Devils dead and torn apart, she was so broken and wouldn't do anything. She shut everyone out and this caused a problem when it came to working with Hunt. She wanted to bad to ignore him and to be alone but she couldn't and that caused a issue between them in the beginning of the working together. For Hunt, he is literally an owned person. He isn't free and is forced to do Micah's dirty work. Hunt is forced to kill people who are on Micah's hit list and is not allowed to talk back because then he might never be free. This caused a lot of trouble when it comes to him beating himself up because he doesn't want Bryce to think of him as a monster because he has to kill people. Another internal conflict for Hunt is that he mentally beats himself up for the fact that he is slowly falling for Bryce. Hunt's former love was killed and he has also thought that he would love her forever until he met Bryce. Bryce makes him forget all about his pain and makes him happy and he hates himself because he allowed her to make him feel that way. She stopped dancing, partying, smiling, laughing, etc.. She pretty much stopped living. There wasn't very many things she could do without thinking of Danika. Until she meets Hunt. Now, at the start, Hunt and Bryce did not get along. Hunt thought that Bryce was a careless party-princess. Bryce thought that Hunt was a stuck-up annoyance.
