Did you know there's a chocolate museum in Taoyuan? It's Asia's first
chocolate museum! You can learn about chocolate. And you can learn about
Taiwan's chocolate, from its cocoa trees to its chocolate bars and snacks!
亞洲第一間巧克力博物館就在桃園!

You can see the world's tallest chocolate bar! You can see, smell, touch,
taste... and hear chocolate! Is that the sound of chocolate in your mouth?

This museum is easy to find. It's at the end of Chocolate Street! Look for a

Tomorrow is Earth Day! I'm at the National Museum of Natural Science in
Taichung. The museum has lots of stones, plants, animals, and insects.
明天就是世界地球日！我現在人在台中科博館，裡面有很多岩石、植物、動物，跟昆蟲。

There are bees, butterflies, crickets and many more insects…
這裡有蜜蜂、蝴蝶、蟋蟀等等。

Insects help make the earth healthy. We need them! But many insects are dying
all over the earth.
昆蟲讓我們的地球更健康，但是世界上很多昆蟲正在慢慢地滅亡。

There's a natural science museum in the UK too. It's called the Natural
History Museum. It has a big science project for Earth Day. Kids in the UK
can help!
英國也有科博館，叫做自然史博物館。這間博物館有一個世界地球日的計畫，讓英國的小孩可以幫忙！

The project is about insects and noise. Are loud noises bad for insects?
Scientists don't know.
科學家想知道噪音是不是對昆蟲不好。

The project is very easy… First, kids pick a road.

Some roads are quiet. There's not much noise. Some roads are noisy.
要怎麼做呢？很簡單，小孩子可以先挑選一條路，有一些路很安靜，有一些很吵。

Kids record the noise on their road for five minutes.

Next, kids look at 10 meters of their road. They record all the insects they
see. Then they send everything to the museum. Scientists will study this
information.
孩子們要先在路邊錄音五分鐘，然後在路旁十公尺紀錄所有他們看到的昆蟲，再把所有資料送到博物館裡面，然後科學家會負責研究。

積Did you know chocolate first came from Central America
...and it grows on a tree!
你們知道巧克力是從中美洲來的嗎？
偶Yeah! It's true. The cocoa bean grows on a tree… like a fruit!
可可豆是一種非常大的種子，長在樹上……和水果一樣！

一起And you can make yummy, dark, creamy chocolate from it! 巧克力就是用它做的。

The first cocoa beans were from Central America, but now we can grow them in
lots of places... like Africa... or… Pingtung, Taiwan!
本來只有在中美洲，但現在很多地方都能種，像是非洲，或者屏東！

Yep! Pingtung now has some of the world's best cocoa trees… and now
chocolate made in Pingtung is really good! 屏東有很棒的可可樹，巧克力也很棒。

There are a lot of betel nut trees in Pingtung… but betel nuts are bad for
you! We don't want to grow that or chew that… it makes you sick!

So, some Hakka farmers in Pingtung had an idea… stop growing betel nut trees
and start growing cocoa trees.
因為吃檳榔不好，所以屏東農夫不再種檳榔樹，改種可可樹。

And it worked! Pingtung is a really good place to grow chocolate!
屏東很適合種可可樹。

Isn't that cool? And maybe soon… Pingtung chocolate will become famous all
over the world! 說不定很快，屏東巧克力將在世界成名。

全 Hi, everyone! Today might be the best holiday ever... it's International Chocolate Day!
今天是國際巧克力日！

積 And, if you want to try some of the best chocolate in the world, you don't need to go very far. You don't even have to leave Taiwan!

偶 In the UK there is a very special group of chocolate pros, called "The Academy of Chocolate". An "academy" is a kind of school. This is their name because they want to help people learn all about chocolate!
英國有個巧克力學院！

偶 Every year The Academy has a big competition, called The Golden Bean Awards.
They only give their awards to people they think have made the best chocolaty treats in the whole wide world! And this year, Taiwan's chocolate was the best!
他們每一年都會辦巧克力比賽，今年台灣得到金牌！

Everything about this chocolate is from Taiwan! It starts out as a bean on a
cocoa tree in Pingtung.
使用的可可豆來自屏東。

Later they add some great local Taiwan tastes: like mango leaves, or oolong
tea. Even pink shrimp!
後來再加上芒果葉、烏龍茶，甚至甜蝦！

What crazy tastes would you like to try in your chocolate? Pork floss? Mash
potato? Super spicy peppers?!
