First, Jefferson wanted Lewis and Clark to explore the Missouri River to find a better and faster shortcut to the Pacific Ocean through the Contienent.

2. Second, Jefferson commanded them to do was to take 100% observations of everything they saw and patch down everything they discovered.

3. Third, Jefferson asked them to spy on the Native Americans because he was very skeptical about Native Americans on how they live, and acted.

4. Fourth Jefferson wanted to know even more about the Native Americans so he also told Lewis and Clark to observe them and mark down how they heal diseases and illness to cure the pain.

5. And Finally President Jefferson commanded them to write down the Native Americans vegetation and how they grow plants to help their country and to also record what animals they have that remains unknown to Jefferson's country and the mineral productions they have compared the Jefferson land. Which leads me to a Intresting question, is Jefferson responsible?.
