Pierre Certon was a French composer during the Renaissance Period. Not much is known about the influential musician, although 300 chansons survive. He was originally hired as a clerk, but later became a leader of choristers. Pierre impacted music in the Renaissance Period with his melodically parted music, and later his homophonic textured style.

"Je Le Vous Dirai" translates into many people gossiping. It contains phrases such as "Do not dare I say it" and "Let me tell you what I know." Girls and boys are gossiping in a village about a man, jealous of his wife and nervous that he will cheat on her. The song is very exciting, and has an uplifting but secretive mood.
