Assessing Piaget

Overtime, scientists have been able to find many flaws in the theories of Piaget about the development of children. He did not account for differences in a child's surroundings, not all children can be put into specific stages for when they cross a specific milestone, and he underestimated the abilities of almost all young children. But, He also set a foundation for many scientists to follow, and he was correct in his studies to believe that new reasoning abilities require the stepping-stones of previous abilities.
