My name is Jeff Saunders and I'm the band & choir teacher at Glenrosa Middle School in West Kelowna, British Columbia Canada. Prior to this I taught high school in Prince Rupert BC (basically last stop in BC before hitting the lower regions of Alaska) and had one year of supply teaching in London, UK. At Glenrosa I'm teaching concert band 7, 8 and 9, jazz band 8 & 9, choir 7, 8 & 9; and have also taught strings, guitar and musical theatre courses in my career thus far. With regards to technology in the classroom I've been fortunate to be employed in schools that are very tech-savvy. Up in Rupert our band room had a 60" Smart TV with Apple TV to stream videos and mirror my iPad (I'm admittedly an Apple junkie), and currently use a SmartBoard in my classroom (mainly for Smart Music or video streaming). Smart Music has been a grind during my first year of teaching at GMS, as there's not much buy-in to use to software. However, I will remain persistent! I'm also big on Sibelius to arrange charts for my students, or replace those missing parts that always manage to walk away on their own. ;)
