Orhan Bey was born in Söğüt in 1281. He served as a principality between 1326 and 1359. He received 16,000 km² of the state from his father, Osman Gazi, and left it to his son, Murad I, as 95,000 km².

The childhood and youth of Orhan Bey, the longest-lived Ottoman son, are unknown. It is not known how he grew up, how he was educated, or even whether he was literate. The first mention of his name in Ottoman history was in 1298, due to his marriage to Nilüfer Hatun (Holofira, daughter of Yarhisar Tekfuru). He conquered Köprühisar in 1300 and was given the title of Karacahisar border principality. Osman Bey appointed his son as commander of the small principality's army with the rank of emir-i kebir (beylerbeyi) and he participated in every military action of his father from then on.

The first period of Orhan Bey's principality years was spent with conquests in Anatolia. During his principality, like all other Anatolian principalities, he considered the Ilkhanids based in Iran as his subjects and continued to pay annual taxes. On the other hand, the Ottoman Principality gained more power with the raids and conquests on Byzantine lands.

Orhan Bey conquered Mudanya in 1321 and brought his principality to the coast of the Marmara Sea. He had a mosque named after him built in Gebze in 1323. Until 1321 and 1326, Ottoman principality units were dispatched to the principality borders under the orders of Gazi commanders; Konur Alp raided around the Western Black Sea region, Akça Koca raided around Izmit, Abdurrahman Gazi raided around Yalova (Yalakabad) and conquered Yalova, Akyazı, Mudurnu, Pazaryeri (Ermenipazarı), Sapanca (Ayangölü), Kandıra and Samandra.

In order to find peace in the fight for suzerainty in the Karesi Principality, he first conquered the castles of Ulubad, Karacabey (Mihaliç) and Kırmatı in 1342.

Afterwards, he went on the Karesi Expedition in 1345 with a significant military force. Thus, the large lands belonging to the Karesi Principality and the cities of Balıkesir, Manyas, Edincik and Erdek came under the rule of Orhan Gazi.

Çelebi Mehmet Who is Çelebi Mehmet, the fifth Ottoman sultan, who is considered the second founder of the Ottoman Empire? Çelebi Mehmet Mehmet Çelebi was born in Edirne in 1389. The word “Çelebi” is used for people who are literate and educated in a madrasah or an equivalent institution. Mehmet's teachers, who completed his education in Bursa and Edirne Palace, were Sofi Bayezid from Amasya and Bicaroğlu Hamza from Tokat. Mehmet, who was appointed as the sanjak lord of Amasya in 1391, received this duty thanks to his success in the Canik Expedition. While he served as Amasya sanjak governor between 1391 and 1402, he learned state affairs in detail. During his duty here, he participated in the Anatolian campaigns of his father Yıldırım Bayezid as a sanjak lord with the state military. In most of these campaigns, he commanded the reserve forces of the Ottoman army. He was also the reserve force commander during the Battle of Ankara in 1402. Thanks to Çelebi Mehmet, the unit he led suffered very few casualties and thus he was saved. THE SULTAN WHO FOUNDED THE TERRIBLE ERA/OTTOMAN FOR THE SECOND TIME After being defeated by his father Timur, the Ottoman Empire lived in the interregnum for 11 years. During this period, Yıldırım Bayezid's sons started a fight for the throne. Çelebi Mehmet was the emir of the Amasya-Tokat-Sivas region in Amasya, which was under the rule of Timur, between 1403 and 1413. Various wars took place between the brothers. Finally, in 1413, Çelebi Mehmet defeated his brother Musa Çelebi in the Battle of Vize and Çamurlu Derbent and took over the administration of the Ottoman Empire on his own. This situation ended the interregnum that brought the Ottoman Empire to the brink of collapse.

Information about Geyikli Baba is based on legends and rumors in the periods after his death. Yunus Emre stated his name as Hasan in his work. Ismail Beliğ from Bursa, a poet and biographer who lived in the 17th century, stated that his name was Ulvi Baba.He was called Geyikli Baba because he lived with deers in the mountains and rode them. According to historians such as Âşıkpaşazâde, Neşrî and Lâmiî Çelebi, who lived in the 15th and 16th centuries, Geyikli Baba, who was a member of the Vefai sect and a disciple of Baba İlyas, came to the vicinity of İnegöl from Hoy with his disciples during the reign of Orhan Gazi and settled here. Geyikli Baba, one of the Greek Abdals, participated in gaza activities here with his disciples. Geyikli Baba and his disciples participated in the capture of Bursa by the Ottoman forces on April 6, 1326, on deer back. Apart from Bursa, he also took part in the capture of Kızılkilise. Following his Gaza activities and Turgut Alp's becoming his disciple, Orhan Gazi wanted to give İnegöl to him as an iqta, but he only wanted a zawiya place and a religious facility was built by Orhan Gazi wherever he wanted. With the residence of his disciples around the zawiya, the settlement known today as Babasultan was established.
