Last semester I observed my practicum teacher deliver a lesson on the process a bill goes through to become a law in a 7th grade Civics/ Economics class. In order to give the students an authentic and practical learning experience the teacher had the students work in small groups to propose a new policy they would like to see in their school. Once the students finalized their policy they had to take it through the same steps a bill would have to go through. The students had to present their policies to the class, the class in turn acted as congress and voted whether to approve the policy or not. If approved by the students the bill then went onto the president (the teacher) for approval. This learning experiance took the studetns through the proacess step by step which made for a much richer and deeper understanding of how and why bills become laws.

I love when Math or History is taught in a fun way. A deck of cards can be used in various ways to teach elementary children addition and multiplication. Teachers can use tools such as Jeopardylabs to make fun games.

TED Ed. is a fantastic resource geared toward flipped classrooms, but can certainly be used as part of regular class instruction. It includes teacher-generated lessons that relate to youtube videos on a variety of subjects. The lessons also include questions related to the videos.
