The protagonist of my novel, Michael Oher, is a monster of a man, weighing in at 345 lb as only a 16 year old. But, Michael fits the definition of a gentle giant, as he intends no harm on anyone except for the defensive linemen he faces. A quote that shows Michael's gentleness is "'Michael not only made his bed, he removed the sheets from the futon, folded them, and returned the thing to its couch-like state. Every day without exception.'" (91)
-Mick Lee

The story tells of his struggles to get sufficient food and overall maintain sanity. "I didn't have it easy. No one in my family had it easy. As a narrator, O'Brien describes his experience in the Vietnam War and how he managed to survive and go through his journey. In the story, Tim's personality is not shown clearly because it focuses on others perspectives and their thoughts of the Vietnam War; However, in some texts, Tim shows a side where he cares for his fellow soldiers. "His face was shoved in the sewage, not moving a single bit. I had felt sorrowful and guilty."
