Concept: Public Realm
Activity: The public realm embraces the external places in the towns and cities that are accessible to all. These are the everyday spaces that people move through and linger within, the places where they live, work and play.

From this picture below, you can see people are buzzing around with types of activities . The importance of public realm is key to this increase in pedestrian activity not only to move people to their destinations, but as a destination in itself. The sitting area for instance, creates a sense of place which provides multi functional town square to encourage active day and night uses at street level within the town core. In addition, the wide pedestrian walkway acts as a stage, an opportunity to promote different activities throughout the day. Furthermore, the ION Mall also acts as a leisure place to promote different functional activities.

Orchard Road comprise attractive and functional streetscape space. The Pedestrain circulation is the key objectives which will result in a healthier and more livable community. Running at right angles to each other, forming a grid. The form of the building promote easy navigation especially for those who are new to the city. The grid follows a logical and consistent organisation, which provide a same advantages.

It is also predictable and regular lot of shapes and size; easy to build and rebuild.

ORCHARD CENTRAL STREET

Orchard central has got a amazing clean and clear street that enables the fast and easy movement for the people that use the building or pass by the building. The street is clear enough for the users and also has security lights in case of being used at night for security purposes. The street is majorly used as a walk way and a drive through for the people that roam around town during day and night. It is also used for big day celebrations as it is decorated on days like Chinese new year, Christmas and other holidays.
