I looked at the brief and I go a vernal idea on what the theme was. I theme of this unit is Lumination, which means light. I started the think of what type of light I could try and represent so I created a mood-board with different type of illumination to help my mind to start thinking of idea.

By then, it was hard to think of ideas which can relate and meet the assignment brief and to also help me to get a merit as I would need a merit to be able to get into University. I created a visual mind-map to help me to start generating ideas. I came up with a number of ideas but all of them were too complex and complicated for me to complete by the deadline which is in 10 - 12 weeks time.

I then remembered on two animations which I saw at Lincoln University and both of them shown light in different ways and concepts. This then gave me a better idea on what I could do for this unit and that is an animation of something which can be represented as light.

I completed the CV and the Report with the help of the feedback from Lorraine as I was struggling to 100% perfect it so I can get a pass as the CV and the Report were the areas which I failed on which made me have a refer on this unit.

This was hard to accept as I thought that I passed this unit but this made me realised that I wasn't proofreading those documents correctly. But with the help from Lorraine when we had a one-on-one session; it made me more calm and relax and I made the improvements needed.

I alos completed the large visual mind-map and I also started Task 1a and I will complete it next lesson which is tomorrow. I was completing the wrong task. I was typing up on what I thought was task 1a until Jack Connelly looked at my work and told me that I was doing the proposal, which is task 1b. It was hard to start off with as there was no template that I could follow so I knew that I wasn't missing nay clear information, which needs to be in there so I can achieve either a merit or a distinction. Overall, today has been stressful but I have got most of the evidencing done which I wanted to talk about in this first task. I fished Task 1a and also Task 1b. I have proofread both documents and I have made amendments to both of them. I have also made sure that I have Harvard Reference Bibliography the documents that I completed for today. I also conducted research into the history of cell/paper animation. I read a research into the history of the animation techniques that I conducted in unit 9/10 and that helped me to identify on what areas I need to research on in cell animation. So I conducted research into the history of cell animation. I also completed this with a Harvard Reference Bibliography. I done this because the information that I already conducted from a previous unit links to the theme of animation which I am doing to my FMP; so I used this research to help em to gather information which I need for other research which I needed to complete.

I'm very happy with my standard of work today as I have encountered no problems and I have achieve my target and also went a step further today. I didn't go to the camera lesson today with Delta as I'm not using any form of camera for my unit. I was mainly focusing on Task 1 as I want to complete it before the half-term as I will be very busy over the half term due to the Iceland trip and also work.

During the easter break, I will be on the Iceland trip and also work during the send week. This was useful because I often repeat myself, my grammar needs to be checked for errors and also the use of specialist terminology and spelling. Hopefully now, my academic writing is more clearer and understandable; this should help me to achieve a merit or distinction.

I read through the brief in the task 2 section and I have got a clear and professional understanding what the requirements are for Task 2 in this unit. I needed to plan ways on conducted method which can help me to gather information effectively. I am going to conduct an 1:1 interview and I'm going to ask my little brother the questions that I have created. This is because my brother fits in the age group which my target audience is aimed at and he watches a lot of animation films so he knows on what is needed to make a good animated film.

I also created a survey on survey monkey, which asked questions based on drawing techniques and my general idea. I will be asking a range of people from my spercific age group and also older as well as a lot of people watch animated films. I will be positing it on a social media network as this is a good way on gathered a lot of information quickly and this will help me to get valid information,ation for my research.

I also attended a session with Dave where he explained to a group of us about sound and audio. I know on what pice of equipment I need to use for my foley and also on how to use the Tascam correctly. This is very helpful for me as Dave told use on how to use a Tascam correctly and this is what I will be using to help me to create foley and also to record it.

The theoretical issues that I have been focusing on are unwanted noises, crew dynamics, transport, locations, finance, toilet facilities, refreshments, production time and job roles. The comparisons on the professional industry is that they need to make sure that all of these areas are all sorted out. The practical and technical problems that I have identified have all have solutions on them. I have identified solution on the equipment, techniques, storage, power, ability, software and backing up.

Tomorrow, I need to create the productions schedule so I can plan on what I am doing throughout day by day. I created an extended edited version of the walking animation that I created the other day; I added more drawings to make the drawing more fluent and smoother. From this creation; the animation was a lot more professional and it matches the same standards as the industry itself. I prepared by using the same outline drawings as from the other day and added new drawings in-between with a red pen, this helped me to identify on what one I need to Photoshop.

I experimented on the walking sequence so the character can walk smoothly and more professionally. I encountered no technical questions throughout the experiments as the two software’s that I was using, which was Premier Pro and Photoshop, didn’t freeze and the computer didn’t overheat. I encountered a theoretical problem which was that I didn’t know on how to create the different camera angles so I had to ask Dave to show me on how to create them on Premier Pro.

This helped me to understand on how easy it is and now I know on how to use it for my postproduction editing. I time managed my time by conducting on the drawing of the concept art and then conducting on Photo-shopping two of my drawings. The pre-production documents that I prepared was the collecting of concept drawings, this shows that I will be developing these drawings throughout the post-production; therefore, it shows that I am planning and developing well throughout the project. This is good because in the professional industry, the animators have to make sure that they have planned and completed all of their pre-production documents and material; this allows them to make sure that they are fully prepared before they are ready to start the full production of the animation.

The theoretical problems that I have encountered today is that the concept drawing of the wall background is that I have drawn the brocks the wrong way round, this isn’t good because I need to make sure when I re-draw the background; I need to make sure that the bricks are the right way round. This will impact my final piece as this will make my background looking professional and this will make it appealing towards my target audience.

I need to improve on my editing skills with the different camera angles; even though I have learnt them from Dave yesterday, I still need to have more practise with them before I start the full editing when all of the drawings has been photo-shopped. Over the weekend, I will be starting some of the drawing so I am day ahead of the production schedule. This will help me to add anymore scenes or change any from the storyboard; this can also can helped me to correct any errors throughout the drawing stage of the postproduction (for example – missing drawings and backgrounds). This will impact my final piece as I will be drawing a day in front of my productions schedule and this will help me to finish a day before the deadline; meaning that I have a spare day to check over my profile before the final submission date.

Throughout today, I haven't encountered any practical, technical and theoretical problems. This is good as it shows that I have been planning my resources and my drawing practises well; meaning that I will not be experiences any issues throughout the production.

I have completed all of the editing on all of the drawings. I also created a Facebook page for CJ media, which is my own media production company which I made in unit seven. I have decided to sue this website because my website shows all of my creativity within the media industry and I want to showcase my website so more people in my Target audience can see the work that I have produced.

The techicnal issues that I experienced today is that Padlet wasn't letting me upload files such as screenshots so I can show evidence of my creation and develops,not of my Facebook page, I also had issues with this with the uploading of files such as PNG files which my edited drawings where saved into. I soon found out that other students from different classes were having the same issue so I understood that they was a technical issue with Padlet itself.

The theoretical problem that I found was the last drawing that I draw of the large city scene was too complex for me to edit and that would hold me back on the editing of the FMP itself on Premire Pro. I solved this issue by using the side view scene for some parts throughout the anaimion as well as the start and the ending of my creation.

I have contributed throughout today as I have created promotional materials such as business cards, tickets and posters. I also have looked at my survey results, I only have four responses so I will be looking at them throughout the weekend and I will be writing up an analysis for them on Monday. I have encountered no technical, theoretical and practical issues throughout today, this is good for me as it shows that I have been working very hard. I also gathered feedback from Jack and Dave based on my FMP. I also had a 1:1 discussion with Lorraine and she was very pleased with my work throughout this unit. I will be coming in on Friday and Monday and I will be completing an audio video and this will help me to present the start of my FMP creation. I will also be starting the evaluation as well so I have a day or two start before anyone else with the help of the template, which is on showbie.

I have contributed throughout today as I have been working very hard on the evaluation. I have been using the plan which I created on my study day on Friday and I have made sure that I stick to this plan. This is because I used the template which is on Showbie to help me to create this plan so it is in the right order and it also tells me on what I need to put into my evaluation so I can critically analysis n what I have done throughout this unit and this will help me to achieve a high merit or even an low distinction.

Throughout the production, I am very pleased on what I have accomplished through these past few weeks. I have conducted a lot of drawings, edited them on Photoshop and produced a 3 - 4 minute animation which is an amazing achievement for me as this is the longest hand drawn animation I have ever done. Also, I am very pleased on the amount of work that I have produced working interdependently so that has shown that I can be effective but yet professional at a very high standard of concentration and focus throughout thee production phase of this unit.

Today, I have contributed throughout today as I have carried on and made huge progress within my evaluation as I am now explain about the preproduction documents that I completed throughout this phase of this unit. Throughout my explanation of my research, I have professional and critically explained on what I have researched, why I have researched it, the impact of this on my FMP label images for their work and my work as well.

I am very pleased on what I have achieved throughout today as I have worked very independently in my little spot in the open plan listing to calm study music to help me focus and not be distracted by other pupils in my class. I will be carrying on like this over the next two weeks as the deadline for this evaluation is on the 13th of June 2017.

Today, I have contributed throughout today as I have almost completed my evaluation which I am very happy. The evaluation is now on 22 pages and at 8,011 words and counting. I have stuck to my evaluation plan which I created six days ago on a study day. I have added lots of images and also labelled a load of images to. I am very confident that this will get either a merit or disposition because I ahem put a load of critical evidence, evaluating to the point and also added images which link to my points. I have contributed throughout today as I have completed and edited my evaluation. During the weekend, I printed out my evaluation and I proofread it critically and made amendments and made my elevation better. The adaptations made today impact my evaluation a sit is clear and professional. I have also edited the posters which Lorraine commented about and I have based them on the showtime presentation day on the 22nd of June 2017.

I have also created an visual PowerPoint based on the range of advertising techniques that I have conducted for the showtime as well as the oscars night. I have done more advertising as expected so this shows that I have conducted in a range of advertising for my FMP for different events held by the college. I have referenced to my Facebook page, website, posters, QR code, tickets and buisness cards that I have created.

I have encountered no technical, practise or theoretical problems throughout today. I have contributed throughout today as I have done some work throughout today. I encountered a very large practical and theoretical issue today which was that I wanted to use the animation room to record my “talking head” conversation based on what I have done throughout my production and also the marketing materials that I have created for Task 6. I asked Dave whether it was possible to book the animation room for myself but he told me that there was some a class who has it booked for the whole day but he will tell me if there is any free space in there for me to do the recording alone. As I haven’t heard from him for a while, I have decided to record the “talking head” footage at home as it would be quiet for me to conduct this when no one is around directing me. Today, I started off with the creation of the script; for this, I used the guideline from Task 6 on the assignment brief. I highlighted on what areas I need to talk about in small but critical detail on these areas. These areas are:

· Introduction.

· Audience.

· Research Findings.

· Production Outcomes.

· Marketing.

· Conclusion.

· Bibliography Sources.

I typed up a script for this “talking head” video and I have also created four more posters based on the screening of my FMP in the Lecture Theatre. I timed my script and it came to a total of 2 minutes and 41 seconds. Throughout today, I have encountered no practical problems throughout the editing process of the posters. For my homework before the overall deadline on Thursday, I will be recoding the “talking head” video at home and I will be editing it on Wednesdays lesson so it is all completed before the deadline on Thursday at 5pm.

I have contributed throughout today as I have edited and completed the tall head for task 6. I filmed the talking head video on my iPad when I was at home before I left to go to college. I then uploaded the video onto my Drop-box account and then uploaded it onto Premier Pro. I encountered no technical or practical problems throughout the filming and the editing process of the creation of the talking head video. I also encountered no theoretical problems also. I am very pleased with the outcome of the talking head video as I have referenced tutorial video (StevRayBro: - Photoshop Tutorial: - How to draw Kirby), my website and my Facebook page for CJ Media. In this video, I have explained about my project, my target audience, research, planning and also my marketing materials. I am very happy that this unit has been one of the most beneficial units I have done as I have completed a professional animation which I done all of the characters and backgrounds by hand. I am also pleased with this unit as I have achieved distinction and merit grades across the unit; so, this means that I have a good chance on getting the overall grade for University. I am very happy with the overall outcome of this unit.
