<title>We definitely have a lot of work to do. I am working with some juniors who still don’t understand unit fractions and that a smaller denominator means larger pieces of the same whole for example. That has lots of implications for a variety of algebra topics.</title>

<title>Once again, K-6 teachers have barely begun unpacking standards so making the shifts hasn&#39;t started. 7-12 teachers have taken the Math Best Practices class taught by the Teachers Development Group. All levels have representation that will meet with Pleasant Valley Schools to discuss their 5 year Math Best Practices implementation plan. This will include math studios and potentially implementing the math habits of mind and habits of interaction across other curricular domains.</title>

<title>I feel like we are getting much better at focus and coherence. We are really digging into deconstructing the standards and really looking at what each standard means K-12. From there, teachers are writing focused learning targets. As far as coherence, we have been having one up one down meetings and are looking at essential standards and how they build over time. I feel like rigor is a place we can keep working. Still a lot of traditional teaching… but we are getting better.</title>
