Scrooge is introduced a mean and horrible character, the ghost of Jacob Marley comes to Scrooge and tells him he’ll be haunted by 3 different ghosts. Scrooge gets invited to Fred’s Christmas party who’s his nephew, but Scrooge don’t go because he thinks it’s pointless and hates Christmas.

Stave 2

Scrooge starts to wake up to the first ghost, the ghost of Christmas past by him opening Scrooges bed curtains and takes Scrooge on a trip through his past christmases. Scrooge also starts to learn that happiness isnt just about the amount if money you have. Scrooge sees himself as a young man with Belle, the woman he was engaged to marry. Belle breaks off the engagement because she thinks Scrooge loves money more than he loves her. He also starts to feel regret from how bad he treats bob and his family.

Stave 3

Scrooge is taken by the ghost of Christmas past to see all the Christmas decorations and how people celebrate Christmas. He goes to London, bobs house, and his nephew Fred’s. Scrooge goes into bobs house to see their Christmas and Scrooge realises tiny Tim will die if the future doesn’t change, which upsets him. The crachit family’s christmas shows you dint need a lot to be happy and the struggles of the poor. The ghost repeats what Scrooge says im stave 1 “decrease the surplus population” Scrooge regrets and ashamed of what he says. The ghost also shows him the life’s of poor people and that money isnt just the happiness of life. Scrooge starts to feel sympathy for the more poor people.
