1) I like how it mentions lesson opening must engage synergistic thinking by asking students to consider the knowledge and or skills they will be learning but through a conceptual question or lens. Also want to connect and extend to previous learning.

2) I will use the assessment methods section as a way to ensure that the way I check for understanding helps promote the transfer of learning across multiple scenarios and is relevant to the unit.

The rubrics three tiers of novice, emerging, and master are important to help identify where you can build and improve in instruction. I think that the rubric is a good way to check myself before I fully commit to a lesson plan and helps me consider all factors in creating an effective and growth inducing lesson for students.
