“The artist who aims at perfection in everything achieves in nothing.” – Eugene Delacroix by Adriane Cala

An artist who chases perfection is like a dog chasing its own tail; stupid and absurd. Perfection itself is a delusion; a figment of our imagination that symbolizes innate and flawless beauty. There is such a thing that is the "golden ratio," which is what everyone craves, yet there is not a single thing in the world that exists without a dent, flaw, or fatality. I do not believe that perfection is achieved, for it is not in art that we find flawlessness, but it is in art where we find subtlety and complexity that is labeled as imperfection.

Art imitates life, heard of that one? Maybe it’s because just like in art, we make mistakes in life — to achieve something, we also need to work hard for it.

Where is the spirit if you don’t try new things, what was the point of you finishing that piece within minutes? Making mistakes isn’t automatic failure, it’s a milestone that you’re willing to try new things and learn from those failures. You are not afraid if you strike the wrong color, or brush the wrong side of the canvas. No one said anything about art being perfect. Art is art is art is art, let’s not let something artificial cover our traditional practices with how we make our magnum opuses. It’s more fun if we get hands on, and even better if we discover something from it.

We won't be able to appreciate the imperfections we made because we would be too focused on trying to be perfect all the time.

I agree 100% because art isn't all about perfection, making mistakes makes you human. Humans are filled with emotions they were never perfect from the start. If an artist aims for their art to be perfect they would succumb to this art hell just to create perfect art. No one can make perfection not even you. You try and try again but the there are always writings on the wall to tell you, you've suffered and sacrificed too much just to achieve perfection.

Regret will dawn up to them when it’s all too late. The quote also serves as a lesson to those people who prevent themselves from exploring things to have that perfect satisfaction that they’ve dreamed of —which doesn’t exist.

A work of art that adheres perfectly to the laws that dictate a proper artwork makes for an uninteresting piece, whereas a work with flaws and imperfections are what make a work of art uniquely beautiful. These quirks that an artist makes are what tells it apart from other pieces.

Everything has a process, you can't just go from 0 to 100, there are still values between these numbers. Saying that you achieve in nothing is downplaying what you have done. Sometimes if we keep striving to be perfect or to have everything perfect we won’t be able to do it by the end of the day and will eventually be left with nothing. Sometimes it’s better to be contented and happy on those pretty imperfections. But not all people are the same, it means that some people will eventually be able to get what they want and be perfect. But for me, it’s too tiring. Striving for perfection is hard and everybody has different perspectives on what that perfection could be. Aiming for perfection could lead you to disappointment.

This quote essentially encourages concentrating on development and expression rather than being bogged down in an impossible quest for faultless perfection. It implies that real success stems from the process of creativity itself rather than the unachievable objective of flawless execution.
