Moss Mother - Can be compared to a Level 0 thesis because, as the game’s first boss, she introduces players to basic mechanics without much complexity. Just like a Level 0 thesis makes a simple claim without detail, Moss Mother’s battle is easy, straightforward, and meant to teach the basics.

It is all tied up with the reward of bellways which gives the fight a lasting impact making it a memerable experience.

The Savage Beastfly is a difficult boss that adds nothing meaningful to the story, making it feel like wasted effort. It’s like a summary that drags on too long which drains reader’s energy instead of clearly highlighting what matters. Instead of deepening the experience, it stretches it pointlessly, leaving players and readers frustrated.

Sister Splinter is a difficult boss at first, especially for newer players who haven’t unlocked all their abilities yet. Like a detailed summary that’s dense at first glance, she can feel overwhelming, requiring careful attention and effort to understand what’s happening. However, as players learn her patterns and gain more skills, the fight becomes more manageable, much like revisiting a summary a second time and finally grasping the main points. Unlike the previous bosses, she rewards effort with a satisfying sense of mastery, making her a boss that teaches and challenges in equal measure.

The 4th Chorus boss can be compared to a summary that outlines the main points but doesn’t explain them well. It mainly uses the environment with lava pools to shape movement, providing hints and structure, and rewards players with the Drifter’s Cloak, which is useful. Yet it still feels incomplete, like a summary that almost conveys its message but lacks sufficient detail or evidence.

Moorwing is considered a strong early boss because he presents a significant challenge while teaching fundamental combat skills. Like a well-crafted summary, he highlights the key mechanics players need to understand pogoing, timing attacks, and dodging in close quarters without overwhelming them with unnecessary complexity. The fight is satisfying because it both tests and reinforces essential abilities, giving players a clear sense of what they need to know to succeed in the game.

The Final Judge is a perfect 4, not just because he’s the final boss of Act 1, but because he delivers everything a boss should. Like an excellent summary, he pulls together the most important themes and challenges from earlier fights, wrapping up the story in a way that feels both complete and meaningful. The battle itself is thrilling and memorable, leaving players satisfied and prepared for what comes next.
