In this video, I learned how the body reacts to the act of heating up. When our body gets to a certain temperature, our sensors send messages to our brains and it starts a cooling process. After several days of sweating, the brain ceases the sweating, and nerves send out signals for the water to be sucked back to the heart. I think this is a pretty cool way that sensors allow for the body to adapt to certain situations, but the brain can override some of these signals. I wonder what would happen if your sensors were damaged while you were stranded in the desert and would this allow you to die faster?

Before watching this video, I never realized the impact that nerves/microbe sensors had on our body, nor did I realize how many sensors we have throughout our bodies. I also learned that each square inch of your hands holds about 600 sensors, including touch receptors, and these sensors allow us to react to situations almost instantaneously. This makes me wonder how someone could function if they have extreme nerve damage and whether that would effect their brain.
