Albert Nelson (AKA Albert King) is known as one of the three kings of blues. His style of playing guitar was like that of no one else of his time. This earned him a place in the blues hall of fame and the Rock and Roll hall of fame. Although a left handed guitarist, he played a right handed guitar flipped. This unique way of playing created a style that no one else matched. The flow and whine he was able to create within his solos gave his instrument a voice. It gave it life and once you had heard it once you know his sound in a heartbeat. His style of music heavily focused around blues and soul blues. Albert was not a fan of high tech effects and preferred a raw and large tone. When it came to the tech he did perform with he had as follows:
Amps: Roland JC-120, Acoustic 270 Head, Acoustic 2x12 cabinet and 1969 Fender Dual Showman
Pedals: MXR Phase 90
Guitars: 1959 Gibson Flying V, Custom 1972 Guitar (replica of a Flying V) built by Dan Erlewine called Lucy, 1960's Flying V which was Gambled away (date unknown).
References:

Wolf Marshell, Vintage Guitar, Albert King's Flying V's, 6/2009, https://www.vintageguitar.com/3813/albert-kings-flying-vs

Happy Bluesman, How to sound like Albert King, https://happybluesman.com/how-sound-albert-king/

Trez Drozdowski, 4/20/2010, How Gibson Flying V Legend Gave Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn the Bends, Gibson, http://aws2.gibson.com/news-lifestyle/features/en-us/albert-king-0420.aspx

Andy Alerdort, 11/7/2015, King Albert: Getting a grip on the expressive signature bending techniques of legendary blues great Albert King, Riff, https://riffjournal.com/king-albert-getting-a-grip-on-the-expressive-signature-bending-techniques-of-legendary-blues-great-albert-king/

Alan Di Perna, 26/04/2016, Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Guitar Giant Albert King, Guitar World, https://www.guitarworld.com/artists/celebrating-life-and-legacy-guitar-giant-albert-king

Albert King, All Music, https://www.allmusic.com/artist/albert-king-mn0000617844/biography

Sticky Fingers ((From left to right) Paddy Cornwall (Bass/Vocals), Beaker "beaks" Best (drums/Percussion), Freddy Crabs (Keys/Synth), Seamus Coyle (Lead Guitar) and Dylan Frost (Lead Vocals/Guitar)) are an Australian Band when creates a fusion of Rock, Alternative, Reggae and Psychedelic music. They are an independent act and have been releasing music since 2008 as a band. Their music is extremely engaging and unique, Branching away from rather than just one of the above mentioned genres and rather fusing them all together. This unique sound is what gave them the opportunity to tour the world, grow their audience and sell out venues you'd expect people such as Elton John or Post Malone to be playing at. in 2013 they delved deeper into their music and really put in the effort. That album "Carress Your Soul' "eventually achieved an ARIAA platinum certification. 2014’s Land of Pleasure went gold, bowed at #3 on the Australian Albums Chart, and kicked off a string of three consecutive Top 5 albums. In 2016, Westway (The Glitter & the Slums) bowed at #1, cementing them as Australia’s hottest export. As Yours To Keep clinched the #4 spot on the charts upon arrival, Sticky Fingers launched their biggest tour to date, selling out arenas and stadiums across the continent."(STIFI HQ) As a band they did however struggle with addiction and allegations forcing them into a 5 year hiatus. This caused a blacklist of their music from Triple J and outraged/disgusted fans. Since calming down, refocusing themselves and getting back to the roots of their music they have begun releasing music again as of 2021 better than ever with a new sound. The boys have begun touring again and appear to have a more joyful outlook on their music, trying to create a "happy" album. When it came down to performances these are the main instruments I found were used.
Guitars/Bass: Gibson ES-335 1960's Model, Fender Strat, Rickenbacker 4001, Fender Jazz Bass, Fender 50's Vintera Telecaster, Rickenbacker 330, Yamaha FG830NT
Amps: Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue, Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus, Fender '65 Deluxe Chorus, Fender "Wide Panel Tweed" Deluxe Amp 5D3
Synth: Korg Kronos X 88-Key Music Workstation
References:

Bekki Bemrose, Sticky Fingers, Allmusic, https://www.allmusic.com/artist/sticky-fingers-mn0003293086

Daniel Clarke, 7/10/2009, Sticky Fingers, Music Feeds, https://musicfeeds.com.au/features/sticky-fingers/

Bio, Sticky Fingers HQ, https://stickyfingerstheband.com/music/

Equuipboard - Seamus Coyle, Dylan Frost, Freddy Crabs, https://equipboard.com/pros/seamus-coyle?gear=guitars, https://equipboard.com/pros/freddy-crabs, https://equipboard.com/pros/dylan-frost

Greg Moskovitch, 20/06/2016, Sticky Fingers Gear is up For grabs on EBAY right now, Tone Deaf, https://tonedeaf.thebrag.com/sticky-fingers-gear-grabs-ebay-right-now/

Matt Corby is an Australian singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He first rose to popularity when he was 16 and entered Australian idol where he performmed superstition by Stevie Wonder. His first hit "Brother" was released in 2011 and brought interest around the artist. A simple song focused around a basic drum, guitar and vocal piece. The piece really encompasses hi as an artist. Focusing on his strong points such as his raspy and raw vocals. Matt's music is a strong combination of Indie, Folk and Rock and as shown within his Rainbow Valley album some of his songs have become quite experimental. The sound is unique and differs from those earlier songs, it is melodic and relaxing, while also being a song to jam out too. This shift was his exploration with different instruments and away from that acoustic sound everyone was used to. Within live performances and for recording he has been noted to use
Guitars: Martin D-18, Martin D-28, Gibson Chet Atkins Tennessean, Fender Stratocaster, Guild 2-50 Slim, Fender Telecaster, TMG Dover
Pedals: Boss RC-20XL, Electro-Harmonix Cathedral, Strymon Mobius Modulator, Strymon Flint, JHS Morning Glory
Synthesizers: Roland Juno-106, Clivia Nord Stage 88,
Mics: Shure SM7B
Amps: Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus
References:

Matt Corby, EquipBoard, https://equipboard.com/pros/matt-corby?gear=studio-equipment

Kellie Given, 10 things to know about Matt Corby, U Music, https://umusic.co.nz/umusic/top-40-chart/10-things-you-should-know-about-matt-corby/

28/05/2020, Zach Edwards, We've dived in and picked Matt Corby's top 5 Tracks, Forte, https://fortemag.com.au/matt-corbys-top-5-tracks/

Marcy Donelson, Biography Matt Corby, Allmusic, https://www.allmusic.com/artist/matt-corby-mn0001778872/biography

Rod Yates, 28/4/2016, Matt Corby The Reluctant Star, Rolling Stone, https://au.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/matt-corby-feature-1141/

1/11/2018, Matt Corby and how instrumental experimentation changed his iconic sound, Backyard opera, https://www.backyardopera.com/music-8/2018/11/1/matt-corby-and-how-instrumental-experimentation-changed-his-iconic-sound

When I first began playing guitar at 16 I was instantly hooked on blues and soul blues. Within that was Albert King. He was the first person to ever influence me. His raw grand sound was what drew me in. His was to seamlessly play the guitar and make it sound so beautiful as if it had a voice of it's own seemed unreal to me. His simple blues structure yet dynamic pieces were so engaging to me and throughout my early playing career I wanted to learn how to play like him! I would play blue day in day out, trying to perfect those bends he did. It wasn't until I learnt that Albert played his guitars upside down how hard it would actually be foe me to play the bends as seamlessly. Yet I was that invested I persisted and continued to try. I began singing when I started playing guitar and that raspy, growly, loose structure blues artists and especially Albert King has had me trying to sing like that. Having broad dynamics within my vocals going between low chest voice to my Hugh head voice adding growls and slides within my vocals. Overall he was the first main influence I had in guitar and vocals and was the basis for the musician I am today.

Everyone has that one band who they've listened too before they become popular and no matter what happens they will always enjoy their music. Well, Sticky Fingers is that band for me! I discovered sticky fingers when I was 13 and I have been a massive fan since then! Their psychedelic/rock/indie style just grapes me and it never let go. The vocal style of Dylan Frost to the crispy guitar work of Seamus Coyle, it didn't matter how the song sounded I was gripped. I love how their music has evolved and changed over the years from a very acoustic sounding production style to a full, vibrant, grand layered sound. Same as Albert King I began basing my songs when I would write them with an infusion of Albert King and Sticky fingers. That mixture of Indie and psychedelics with blues. I would often play quite simple chords with reverb and sing loosely like blues to try and combine the two sounds. The guitar I would write and play also become a mixture of Chords and Melodys similar to those of sticky fingers. They also lead me into the world of syncopation. A very reggae thing, I began syncopating various within pieces to add a more grand depth to them, as Sticky Fingers would do. Overall Sticky Fingers are the band that first lead me into indie music and my most influential band.

Matt Corby is the final piece to the puzzle when it comes to me. Matt Corby is who helped me discover my sound as a musician. I first discovered him when I was 15 but never really got into his music until I was 16/17. This is when everything came together. I already had that blues and indie influence but I felt like it was missing something. Matt Corby was that. His experimental sound and vocals are what drew me in. I loved the way in his Rainbow valley album he experimented with sounds and it was all very free sounding and his vocals were amazing! Combining this with everything else I had, I began writing music that would was experimental/indie and blues all combined. The dynamics within his songs, the drops from try full sounds to very empty acoustic sounds also helped me when writing to do similar and I loved the way it would turn out! How he could control his voice between clean and raspy tones was the exact thing I wanted as well. Combining this with Albert King and Sticky Fingers I ended up with loose vocals shifting between a raw, raspy, belted tone to a clean, open, smooth vocal.
