Listening, singing, composing and playing with music instuments are the main activities in my lessons. In my classroom, there is an interactive whiteboard. I try to use it as often as possible. With my students discuss musical issues and we talk about several kinds of music. Digital musical activities are suggested by Greek Ministry of Education, some of which you may see at dschool.edu.gr. I hope soon to be able to incorporate tablet music activities in my lessons and play music with my students. All of them are fun of tablets' applications, so I' m looking forward to take ideas and make them real!

I think that using tablets in the classroom will:

1) motivate my students,

2) keep them in contact with music out of the school,

3) let them understand that they can learn via tablets' applications

4) make them more creative, either working alone or in groups

5) help them understand how music is built

6) help them create their own music compositions

7) give them the opportunity to deliver their work easily and quickly.

Personally, as music teacher, I hope to find new ways of teaching music, which will be more interesting, creative, collaborative and flexible. Under these circumstances, all students can participate in music lesson following their own learning rhythm, according to their preferences and competences.

Although we don't have tablets in our school, I think that we will face the following challenges: a) technical support: who is going to be responsible for any technical problem? For example, there is wireless connection in some classes, but there are often problems in this connection, b) All of my collegues are really interested in tablets' engangement in their classroon. But, on the other hand, I don't know who can help us for our professional development. c) Economical issue: even if we can afford the cost for tablets (we may buy them), upgrades and new applications are also required. This means that we need a certain ammount of money (high or low) to continue exprerimentation with tablets and keep students' interests.

Engaging tablets in classroom is an innovative idea not only for teachers but for students, as well. Tablets for students mean more gaming than learning. So, I think that a good idea for the beginning of my "experiment" will be to use them in extracurricular activities, as theater, making a movie. When students understand the importance of using tablets for learning, they will be able to obey to classroom rules.

Unfortunately, the teacher should not only have in mind the learning procedure but also the technical problems, the rules obedience and students' participation.

Students, alone or in groups up to 3, gather data about their favourite singer or music groups. Presenting their work, they take feedback, exchange ideas and learn more about schoolmates' musical preferences.
