The Social Media outlet I chose to follow was a Podcast by Cindy and Alison; How Preschool Teachers Do It. I believe this to be a valuable resource because it goes over ways to help a teacher in the class room, it gives parents pointers on what it's like for their child in Preschool and what they are learning, why and how. It also gives insights for parents to find ways to engage with their children in their school. I would recommend this for others who are preschool teachers or parents of preschoolers.

One important thing I learned from this podcast is as teachers we can’t expect children to be ok with how some things are taught. The ways of learning are changing and as teachers we have to keep up with the ever changing ways. We have to find ways that get and keep their attention long enough to teach. An idea I plan to use at my job is from the podcast; Pen Pals. Listening to this podcast had me reminiscing about when I wrote letters in class for a pen pal. And a valuable lesson can be taught from writing pen pals. It allows children to understand the value of writing and gives the experience of the act of pen to paper.

Reflect on how social media helped you grow professionally. Do you feel that following social media is something that you will continue to do? Explain.

I was able to grow professionally with the help of Social Media by following an educational media and keeping up with what they are discussing. In my normal social medias I simply followed friends and family and some celebrities. By following someone outside of those groups has helped me better understand what's going on more in education settings. I do plan to continue following "How Preschool Teachers Do It", because it has helped me understand some things and has given me ideas on how to help the children I work with.
